Im with Kibort, the kart Kibort and I shared last year had severe handling issues. When you turned right it wanted to swap ends.I demonstrated the karts poor handeling by stuffing it into the tire barrier HARD. Hopefully that thing has been in the shop since .

I've never driven a kart, I've only done auto-X before. I'm not sure I'd be up to it, but I'll be there to watch. If I feel up to it and if there's room I'll jump in.

Arash: Just to mkake sure there is no confusion, this event is in Norcal, near San Francisco. The proposed Socal-Norcal deathmatch would probably be at Sharktoberfest (Anaheim). Man, I really don't want a deathmatch. I know these guys take this WAY too seriously. I just like to putt around.

semisalmi - the track provides all that is needed, but if you have a helmet you like, bring it.

okay, how competitive is this? My wife is interested as well, but this sounds potentially hardcore. It's not 'too' fast for non-racers is it? Will she be able to rip around and have fun even if not the fastest time? or only get a short experience and then have to sit out for not being top 5? ...trying to find time to make it, but want to be sure it's "better-half" suited as well, before working things out --> any advice?

Everybody get to race the same amount of time and it is more talk than walk on this forum..

Last time we tried putting together a fast and a slow group.. Got it almost right but the spread wasn't very big to be honest.

Don't worry about it. The SOCAL event we just did had drivers of varying experience and abilities and everyone had a great time. You and your wife will have a lot of fun.

Thanks for the clarification guys, it sounds like a hoot.

BTW, she likes to drive fast and is quite competitive as well, unless the aggression gets closer to full-tilt...then she says "not TOO fast". She heard helmets were required and said, "Is this going to be the TOO fast kind of fun"?

Anders, will confirm 7/29 @ 6pm works for me and get back to you asap !!

Some little advice to short people (mainly the ladies)...There are seat inserts that allow you to more easily reach the pedals. Ann was slow, I mean embarrasingly slow, the first time she drove a kart in Fremont. Turns out that she couldn't press the gas pedal all the way down (same thing with the brake pedal). Next session she used an insert, had more fun and was competitive. Ask the starter guys for one.

Rich
