Wish list, not in any particular order. Money no object; Muira SV, Enzo, Mazer Ghibli cabrio, Mclaren, '37 Cord supercharged Sportsman conv, Caddie V-16 Phaeton.

If I have to pay for it; Mondial cabrio, Espada SII, Stude supercharged Avanti, BMW 3.0CSL(batmobile), E type Jag, BMW Isetta 600 limo, Matra Bagheera, Datsun Fairlady, Nissan Skyline, NSU TT Spiez, '59 Caddie conv, Jensen FF(not interceptor).

If you have an EXACT model of one of the cars in the second list, let's talk! Still love my 928, but I have other interests too.

Ok I'm an oddball here. Of course I would LOVE a F430, Zonda, Maserati, well any supercar (except Lambo, styling there a bit too bat-mobile for me ) But they are so BIG. It's something I'm not sure about on the 928, though I'll see how it feels when it gets driving SOON!
But then again... for a ferrari I could have 40 dream cars. I've been raised on MGs, vintage, BEAUTIFUL cars. Not fast, just fun! Small, sporty. I wouldn't mind an TR3, Elan, and I really miss my dad's FFR Cobra replica (and he sold it before I was old enough to drive!). Cars you can throw around, have fun, or even sometimes... putter around. They are charming. Then again, if someone let me drive their ferrari I just might change my mind
Just my 2 pennies.

I saw this thread shortly after it was posted, and have been trying to think of a good answer. Still thinking...

Last week i was @ 17hours away from jumping on a plane to go pick-up my new ride, I had everything ready, cheque in hand. I checked my email one last time to find out the guy sold the car that day. 96' BMW 850ci . I have been very pouty since. Not that i want to replace the 928, i just need something to park beside it, And the 850ci i think is the next best thing....... or maybe a Lotus turbo esprit S4.

I drove a new Caymen S recently....yowza! Don't think I could 'Replace' the shark with it - but maybe 'augment'!)

As to all that remark on the "don't see many on the road" factor...at the Rolex 24 Porsche Paddock a couple months back - my shark got AS MUCH, OR MORE attention as ANY of the 100+ p-cars there!

The turbo Esprit or the 928?

I've had people who have never even driven a 928 - let alone owned one - tell me about all the problems with them.

So without firsthand experience I'm not sure it's fair to call another car problematic. Unless you're talking about a Yugo.

For me, it would take ALL four of the below to get me out of my shark.

Fairweather runabout:

When I need seating for 6: (There actually was a bench seat option for these)

Need I say anything about this one?:

Since this thread did start with an AM, this would be my pick, and I wouldn't even need the machine gun option, although the rotating plates would be nice.

Ross, I'll try to make it to your funeral. The R6 is just about the deadlist, if not the deadliest thing you can legally drive on the streets. Of course, it's all about the driver, but a lot of folks are getting cracked up with these.

Oh, add that superbird to my list of 'money no object' cars. We all have stories about the one that got away, and I found a rusty superbird in a gas station garage about 15 years ago. The owner wanted $15k at the time, and I kick myself for not writing that check. It was complete, but in sad shape.

Interesting cars here for some. For me, if I were ever to really seriously consider selling one or more of my 928s I would want something new or newer, reasonably priced (I know an Aston Martin may not seem reasonable to most and I hate the way that sounds), newer technology and with a warranty. New/newer Ferraris, MBZ SLRs, super exotic McLarens, Zondas or high $ classics are all really cool and if I were to consider this question with the assumption that money were no object my list would most certainly include many of the cars listed in this post. Probably a couple of them and a new garage to house them all. Unfortunately, money is the all determining factor.

What I really like about the AM, is its relative exclusivity, price (especially if history is any indication about what the used car market holds new AMs - I would probably buy used), edgy style, sound (I have not heard one and I am going to see one next week but I hear it is unbelievably loud for a production car). The big question is at 5'-17" will I fit in the car.......

The only thing keeping me from doing it is I wouldn't have a car.
