Is there a car you would give up your 928(s) to buy?

A collection is what I want and will have. A dichotomy and a symphony of cars from all corners and tastes. Thats my personality - consistent in the inconsistency. A BMW 2002, a Muria, whatever Mclaren comes out with for the street, a couple important race cars, an sleeper sedan like the E55 boosted to high heavan, a Ferrari bastardized with Turbos - same with a lambo. 928s from the years I enjoy. A 2500 suburban running ethanol and two turbos. No interest in older vingage cars except maybe some of the older racers - offenhauser, that diesel that won races in the 20s or 30s. Those Straight 8s. Something wicked, spurting oil, gas, and smoke, and then drive it on the street, sitting at lights rumbling like distant thunder. Its a statement I won't expand on here...
A couple of those are not even that expensive. Its the SPACE.

I still love the AMV8 but not enough to sell the GTS (again...) to buy one. CFO says if I sell the GTS I could order a new one exactly like I want it! Just sold my CLK63 Black Series to Graham Rahal and now considering a AMV8 Roadster (roadster wasn't available when I started this thread), another AMG SL (6.2L this time) or a 997 TT Cab. Will not buy a new one of any b/c of the steeeeep depreciation curve on all three!

I don't believe that I will ever replace all of my 928s. However, I might replace one as a) three is too many for me, all by myself, to keep in top condition and b) I am actually running out of garage space. On the flip side, by this time next year I will have some four post lifts. In any case, I've got my eye on a new toy. It's one of those that looks far, far better in person than in pictures and I 'spect that the looks are an acquired taste (like the 928.) I'm thinking Black... or perhaps a special order in an outrageous color. Maybe a dark orange metallic. But, in black it looks like Darth Vader with rabies.

Every body has their own point of view, but the 512TR...REALLY GUYS? That thing is butt ugly. Talk about NOT aging well... (sorry Chris) only the 348 has aged more poorly, and if you want to talk about cost to maintain...WOW, try either the 512 or the 348...most services would buy you a decent running early 928 and a SERIOUS service will cost you a GTS!
LOVE the Z8! We have one just like that down the street from me. The owner also has a new 997.2 GT3RS! SWEET! Oh, and an Exile custom bike! Not bad at all!
Dave, R8? Really? I think that is going to age poorly as well unfortunately. I have driven a V8 R8 and it was a SWEET driving car (underpowered in the group I was driving it in, but SUPER nice and comfortable). Not my cup of tea for sure, but they sure did a good job technically with that car.

My passion for Ferrari's lies with the older cars. I find the 512TR to be too big and way too wide. If my wallet was bursting number one would be a 275 GTB 4 cam closely followed by Daytona shod in its resplendid Borrani's both in Ferrari red of course.

Being a huge fan of the Testarossa, the 512 TR is really a modernized version kind of like the GTS is to the 928. Updated Front/Rear Bumpers, wheels and body colored trim. Interior is also significantly improved over the standard Testarossa.

Hey James, remember Tad Breeden? Saw him at the airport the other day, he has a Testarossa now and says he misses his S4 ...
And the pres. of our local Ferrari club just got a 95 GTS for his daily driver.
So, not so clear cut on the Ferraris guys ...

^^^ considered buying a Z8 once til I read about the frame issue...
As for the 512TR; here is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. My issue with them as I'm virtically challenged and don't fit in them....
The F-car guys buy Porsches or go back to Porsches for the reliability compared to their F-car.
