What is it I am missing here? Chuck is upset that he paid 1100.00 for a set of wheels that weren't made right. He sends them back and the guy keeps them. He wants his money back or the wheels done correctly. He settles by paying ANOTHER 100.00 to ship the BAD wheels back to him and now he is right back where he started and is out another 100.00 dollars and the cost and time of trying to make them work? Sounds like a GM and UAW negotiation session to me.

Nope, I think Chuck received a $1100 refund form the credit card company that the wheel maker will not dispute. So after the final shipping of the rims ($100) he still got $1000 and a set of rims.

Jim's got it right. Before I paid the $100 shipping I had NO wheels and was out $1150. The cc company already wrote off in my favor ~$1260 four months ago.

Chuck .... those protruders may actually look pretty good. Try installing the full set and post pics so we can see? Anyway .... THIS DEAL IS DONE and I as an outsider respect the desire of buyer and seller to call it an AGREEMENT. When we make agreements, we shake hands and it is OVER.

Anyone ever chromed the outside of the lug nuts or
polished a set?

Always surprised me how those dinky light 20 pieces of alloy keeps the
wheels on the hubs.

Chuck, what is the possibility of changing out your hubs to accommodate the new style lugs? This fixes your protrusion issue...too costly?

I the tires put back on the wheels again and used a set of steel open end racing/wheel spacer lug nuts to mount them back on the car and its pretty obvious I will have to modify them somehow. The only aesthetically pleasing look (IMHO of course) is to do something with these lug nuts. Wonder if I could have someone weld the open end into a dome and the grind it to look like the OE lug nut only shorter? Not much room for error though as they would need to be domed a bit to allow them to fit over the stud otherwise I might not be able to tighten them down.

The alloy nuts have been chromed and polished. The chrome tends to get knocked off ,the polished dulls over time. Most racing sanctioning bodies require steel lug nuts since they are stronger than the alloy nuts and less likely to strip threads.
