Alright, I order the 2698 from RA, and got the made in india solid mounts with pin on bottom. These weren't listed as 2698SR, either when ordering or on the box. It sounds to me like they have no rhyme or reason to what they send. The picture on the box looks like the hydraulic mounts I've seen in the pictures, but there's definitely no fluid in mine. I'm leaning to the hydraulic, so I'll probably try to return and see what the deal is.
edit- I forgot, the RA page explicitly says these are "hydraulic 4x4 mounts" I'd say they have some real issues with their distributors.

Chris,
Send an email to this lady. Jodi Meyer [jodi@rockauto.com]
She is dealing with my returns and is very familiar with the situation.
RockAuto's customer service is pretty good even if they do not know what parts they are sending.
Good luck,
Roger

Has any body ever tried to look at a Ford 350 4x4 with a V6. MJ should be a 1993. Probably this would solve the mystique about the pins.
Just curious.
BTW I "exchanged" my Made in India with a Made in USA unit at my local Autozone. They can't explain either. Same part number only the MII box is slightly higher.
I ordered once 60 and Autozone confirmed with me that they don't sell anything else than MIU. They were right I checked every single mount after they arrived and they were all MIU.
2 weeks agon when I bought another set they showed me one MIU and one MII (just like Roger's MM above). Looks like Autozone can't guarantee anymore where they have been manufactured...

Schocki,
I have been talking with Anchor this afternoon and reached the conclusion that we should order MM for the specific Ford vehicle and that should get us the right mount.
They are emailing me the Ford vehicle types the MM we want is fitted to.
I will try that with RockAuto and see what happens.
I will post the vehicle types here when I receive them.

RockAuto have the picture and I have returned all four to them.
They are researching why so many different connotations with Anchor and will get back to me.
Spoke with the tech expert at Anchor.
They use 2 part numbers in house.
2698 is hydraulic.
2698SR is solid (Solid Rubber)
No conclusions as yet but whatch this space.
All the MM we have fitted were the hydraulic USA ones.

According to the tech specialist at Anchor if you want the made in USA hydraulic unit order a MM for one of the following vehicles.
It fits 1985-89 Ford Ranger 2.0L w/ 2WD Front Left & Right
1985-97 Ford Ranger 2.3L w/ 2WD Front Left & Right
1988-97 Ford Ranger 2.3L w/ 4WD Front Left & Right
It will also fit the corresponding Mazda B2000 and B2300.
I am trying the same exercise for the solid MM.
Maybe we can now get some uniformity in our ordering of MM.

I tried searching for the MM for the above vehicle on RockAuto. Tried all different variations and could not find one search conclusion for MM.
Did the same search on Autozone and came up with the Anchor 2698 with a descrition of hydraulic type.
Schocki,
Tried F350 in both Autozone and RA. No V6 with this vehicle and all the V8's had a different MM.

got the made in india solid mounts with pin on bottom
All I am saying here is "be careful". These are made to the Ford F100 or F150 design, and a lot of Ford parts are made by the cheapest bidder, not known for quality like a Porsche part.
Somebody said our nuts are not Grade 8. Yes they are, and extra-deep, and zinc plated, and metric to match the car.
I have them in stock - we ship same day as you order, and you do not have to worry about whether you are getting the right part or model number. The metric Grade 8 zinc-platred nuts are included.

"No disrespect to Carl but aren't his Anchor Mounts. They sure look the same.
Carl supplies zinc plated hardware whereas we use SS grade 8 hardware with nylon locking inserts.
I would not recommend using nuts that are not nylock."
Carl,
The point I was making was that we prefer to use solid S/S grade 8 nuts with Nylock inserts.
Do yours have nylock inserts in your zinc plated ones?

ROG100 - Normally, "SS" mean Stainless Steel. You say you prefer to use SS (Stainless Steel) Grade 8 nuts. That can't be right... there is no such thing - they do not exist. If they are SS, then they are not Grade 8. If Grade 8, they are not SS. Or you meant something else.
Stainless Steel fasteners have no place in critical applications, at all, ever.
Stainless Steel fasteners are weak in sheer, torque and torsion. They are best used in saltwater and other caustic environs where they were meant to be used.
As to "Nylock" - that is a personal choice sort of thing. Nylock anti-vibration system is a fine product, although there is also hi-interference threads (severl styles) and then the Loctite line of anti-vibration products.
I could have spec'd a Grade 9 Nylock nut too, but when we went to the extra-deep nut like we did, Nylock was no longer available. The Extra-deep nut is thicker than the standard nut. All being equal (if everything is Grade 8, for example) the taller nut catches about 1.5 more threads on the bolt and consequently is capable of carrying more stress before failure. We just put Loctite on the threads.

I am going to edit myself - there is ONE SS alloy that may be the exception to the rule.
SS Grade 17-4 PH is a seldom-found SS material that is designed to have most of the strength of typical alloy fasteners. Buy - like I said, it s VERY hard to find.
There is nothing wrong with a cadmium or zinc plate (for corriosion resistance) on a good grade bolt or nut. Works very well, has for years. Cadmium is the "yellow'gold" look, zinc is silver/chrome looking.
Most of our OEM Porsche fasteners are cadmium coated.

Carl,
Sorry you were dead right.
They are M12 -1.75 zinc plated. Grade 8
They looked so nice and shiny I assumed incorrectly that they were SS.
