Sounds like fun -- I'll see if I can make it.

This will be a long haul- I'd suggest we abort if inclement weather.

This is an inconvience,,not an emergency.

I greatly appreciate the help !

Best wishes for a Happt and Safe Holiday !!

We're going to play it by ear. If it's just little drizzly, I do have a tent we can put up that will keep us dry. Check in Monday morning.

Awww, come on... surely there's a way to make it work out. The forecast I saw calls for rain tapering off around midday. Jeez, maybe I should get Heinrich to regale you with stories of doing an engine swap outdoors in Seattle weather.

I do have an ulterior motive, as I plan to drop my fuel tank Tuesday or Wednesday to put in fresh vent hoses, grommets, etc. and it's too damn full at the moment -- a drive to Alamo is just what I need. Oh well, if it's off, I'll just have to carve up some twisties to lighten my fuel load.

I've got a canopy (er, called it a tent) that is 10x10 or so. It's been raining off and on tonight, rather heavy at times. If it isn't heavy, we should go for it. Check-in about 9:30. Night all.

I think we are on. Looks to be partly cloudy maybe with some showers here and there. I will get out the canopy, but hope we don't need it.

Well the weather cooperated- Bill had door disassembled FAST, Brian, Jerry and Dave came over- and viola'- drivers side door opens from outside again-

SHARKS RULE !!!

Turns out the piece that connects the door handle to the opening mechanism is made of tin and frequently fails- called DEVEK, told them problem and they sent correct part- Jerry told me has several in his garage.

Once again- much thanks !!

A successful surgery was performed on Mikes shark! The door lock motors were a bit more complicated than the OB I worked on before...but with some help from Georges website....all is well!

The patient is fully recovered and at home with its family! Only slightly wet from a bit of rain..
