Yeah, it worked out well. Nothing was broken, although the mirror switch looked a bit iffy for a while. The task turned out not to be as much of a B*&%H as I had heard, but Brian's pointers were largely responsible for making it easier. Waiting for the latch on my 89 to finally break so I can put this new learning to good use. See most of you Friday night.
