They are in the upper portion of the manifold. They are designed for the extend length EV14 Injectors used on the GT3, and are shrouded above the port.

Given the Cost, I'll run w/ what I have and try to do updates from what others have learned over time and proven to work well for Andy's system.

From what I have read the intake sealing can be a bit touchy to get right, and the Oil breather / filler on the one I removed only had a plate w/ an elbow (no baffle) installed, so I'm thinking I need to address that.

Once I clean up the heads and V, I'll start looking at how to address those two things.

Chris I'll keep you in mind if things change, thank you

Dave
Thanks Dave. :-)

First take on the sheetmetal lower pans. It looks really good, maybe some room for a little tweaking, but definitely on the right track. Looks how well it lines up to the internal radii.

Looking forward to dropping this on the test car tomorrow and checking all the block clearances.

Thanks everyone for your support.

Revisions, revisions, revisions. The test part came in, and I saw some areas for improvement. Hoping the second revision part will here when I get back from Third Coast, along with the machined upper parts so I can show you guys a real mockup.

I am adding a joggle in the vertical side walls. This will add strength to the part, and give some more clearance for the casting bosses towards the back of the valley. I am printing a test cross section part with the joggle, and also with the floor raised a bit for additional clearance/heat rejection on the pan bottom.

These changes give me flexibility on the thermal management. I am still on the fence on creating a template and cutting adhesive mat to adhere to the pan, or masking and spraying with a ceramic coating (exterior only).

If the test part fits and passes the clearance test, I am going to move forward with this revision on all the production sheetmetal lowers while I finish selection of the heat insulation media.

To keep everyone in the loop, the test batch of custom intercooler fittings are in. There is a double o-ring interface at both the intercooler end-tank and the rear wall of the intake manifold.

The tank side is radiused for flow, and the fitting end is machines to accept Jiffy-Tite Pro-Compact Series60 fittings. I will be using the -12 pushlock quick connect fittings for one-handed toolless installation of .75" equivalent hose. This system should flow really well.

Pictures of the end tank are without the freezeplugs installed for easier viewing.
The second set of photos shows the printed jig for pressure testing the cores without the manifold.

Finally, attaching some pictures of the upper portion of the intake manifold after the first side was machined.

Hoping to have all the machined parts in this week.

Andrew Olson had a leak on his heat exchanger but his is the later Dave Roberts/928SP version.

I did a pressure test on mine in the kitchen sink with 5 psi (IIRC) and it looked ok, but I just don't trust that because I couldn't fit it all the way in at once. I really would like to have a shop do a good test to ease my mind.

Are you having issues that leads you to believe yours is leaking?
Chris, I am losing coolant as well, and I can't see any external leakage. I am planning a manifold-only intercooler pressure leakdown test, at 5 psi as suggested by Colin Jensan. I realize that that will still leave a couple of possibilities about the acutal source of the leak, but it won't leave any possibilities regarding pulling the manifold.

Please make a couple of these, Hans. It's a problem that I'm having as well.

Well let me know how it turns out. I hope it's not in/under the manifold.

You could always look at it as free methanol injection....

If you access to a borescope, pull some spark plugs and have a look. The piston tops should be squeaky clean.

More progress pics from a manifold upper machined on the second side. Getting closer. Intercooler should be here on Friday for test fit too.
