Keith Widom came by 928 International today to nail down some more details. He lives about 60 miles from here! He had stopped by the hotel before and was planning to test drive a potential route for the Sunday morning Fun Drive after he left here.... So he is not going to be home for quite a while ! Those of you who have planned , promoted, managed an event of this size can appreciate how much time and effort it takes to make something like this happen. Everyone involved is determined to make this Sharktoberfest even better than the last one. I am looking forward to seeing so many of you here on the 22 nd .

Thats really nice of you Jim. I appreciate the pat on the back. I was wrapping up some final details with the hotel for Friday and Saturday nights activities. Things are looking spectacular!

As for my meeting with Mark A., we expanded on a few ideas we had previously discussed for the day at 928 Int'l. We have got some very cool things planned and if I may say so myself, folks are going to be very impressed with the days activities!

...and yes, I made it home around 7:30PM and I have to say, I think I have the fun drive nailed down. Anyone that made it on the first Sharktoberfest fun run through the Malibu Canyons, knows THAT was a blast, BUT, this years fun drive is going to blow that one into the weeds!!!

Of course I am not giving any details at the moment on any of this, as we will present them when they are nailed down to our satisfaction.

We are ALL very excited about this years SF. We are hard at work getting things ready...and there's still a lot to do!

Hi Folks,

We are on a quest to find specimen 928’s for Sharktoberfest 2005.

We have a great feature this year on Saturday Oct 22 at 928 International displaying the “Evolution” of the Porsche 928. We are looking for cars of every year made and request that they be STOCK or as close to stock as possible. They must be in nice condition to display. They do not have to be concours’ cars. A few rock chips and slightly worn interior is acceptable. US or Euro is fine. Original wheels are preferred, but others may be accepted.

We are also looking for Specialty 928’s. The rare ones that you do not see everyday, such as Cabriolet, Pick up, Super Charged, Wide Body or what ever….let us know what you have.

Your car will be displayed in a sectioned off area, directly in front of 928 International. A professional printed sign describing that years features will be located at the car WITH YOUR NAME as the present owner. Other incentives will be available.

This display will also be part of the informal walk around tech sessions. EVERYONE will see your car and admire it in the “Evolution” line up.

Please contact Keith Widom if you are interested at socal928group@aol.com

We need your help and will give you full details if your car is chosen to be in the line up.

Thank you so much for contributing to this great event!

It's going to be tough finding 928s owned by Italian astronauts...

I thought about Randy's car (94 GTS) but we need the cars to stay for the day and Randy usually cuts out within 2 hours of arrival. However, if your car rates Randy and you want to hang out, send me some photo's.

Additionally, can you get in touch with the guy who bought the cab? Send him my way!

Hey - I usually stay for a solid 4 hours, or until Jim finishes off all my cocktail fixin's - whichever comes first!

That would be Tarek in Florida - he's here on the forum all the time.

Randy we both know that was not the case but not for lack of desire or capacity , I was drafted and forced to sit at this computer and take customer orders. For some reason the barmaids never came by after that for my orders? ... I think maybe Keith was thinking YOU would be going OUT for lunch See you here Oct 22 if not before.

I merely provided some feedback on that Jim. It is what it is, don't shoot the messenger.

You would prefer drawn and quartered ?? just be sure to bring a lot of Bloody Mary mix and remember no ice for me! It is looking like there will be a breakfast club of volunteers and overly eager 928 owners gathering rather early on Saturday morning .Since most will have helped close the hotel bar Friday evening we are working on having coffee donuts etc. available to help with the energy level. I am really looking forward to this event.

My 94 GTS will be there barring any urgent call from the President of the US requiring hardchargers for an invasion of Iran, N Korea, or South Central LA.
This may be my last oportunity to attended the event since I am Qunatico bound.

I have been selected for jury duty for the months of Oct thru Dec, I asked to get it rescheduled, so we will see if they let me. Otherwise I'll just have to risk a bench warrant because I'm not missing this one.

'Laska huh! Awesome! I am sure there are enough folks up there to decide whether or not that hunter really shot that Kodiak when he caught him in bed with his wife They really won't need you for that one! Glad to hear you're coming down to the endless summer.

Are you kidding? This car is waiting for me down there! Mark is holding it for me to pick up at Sharktoberfest. So if you need a nice 86.5 5sp for your display, you can swing by and take a look.
