I would think the route most SOCAL'ers would take is the I 15N to the I 70E to Highway 6E into Mile High.........OR, I 15N to I 40E to I25N into Mile High.

These would be two very cool scenic routes north or south of the Grand Canyon. I think I would opt for the northern route though through "Utah-lkin to me!?!?"

Salt Lick Sitty would be out of the way for us southerners.

Any weekend is good for me!

I thought it was supposed to be the same weekend as some other Porsche event, so that on Sunday we could go there and have a corral?

If Heinrich can come a bit south of SLC and meet up with us on I-70E, it would be good and that road into Colorado is a great drive and scenic as well. Watch for smokeys on I-70E through central Utah, particularly around Salina. After that it should be smoother sailing. So long as it is mid July, I am happy.

Quite right Nicole, the plan was (is?) to have the event coincide with the Gmund biannual meet. The Gmund event is always attended by reps from PAG and PCNA, and it would be nice to surprise them with a ton of 928s among the 356s and 911s this year.

Last time I talked to Erik, there was still the chance that Tony Lapine would be attending our 928 OCIC. We'll send him around with a magic marker to autograph everyone's cars.

Whenever Tony Lapine can make it, I'll be there.

Now, THAT would be something I could not miss...

But he should bring Wolfgang Möbius along with him... Möbius is the one who actually did all the studio work.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work for us SOCAL'ers. Driving 8+ hours out of the way is not even in the conversation. Unless we meet up on the 70E, we'll see you all in Denver! ...'nuff said.

Keith, I plan to come on 50 through Nevada and then into I-15 /50 through to Salina onI-70. Maybe we could meet up there as I too see no need to drive to SLC and then back down again. We could all proceed on I-70 into Denver from that point. Salina has a Highway Patrol training facility and I know they would be so happy to see us all. If the other NorCal guys want to go on into SLC by way of I-80 that's fine with me, but I prefer the less traveled Rte. 50 and I can spend the night in Eureka, which looked like a swingin' spot to me last time through.

And the rest of the guys from up north can meet up with us down the road on I-70.

Thumbs up

Matt,
Your route comes right through my town, Rosy is running fine now ( I think the problem has been found! ), I was already planning to go ( may the event NOT be in August! Too many other sceduled events! July works very well for me! ), are you and I going to start a caravan thread/group? Maybe I can joggle the Detroit area group to join in as well... Two of them showed up in Wichita, after all! And we had a fine, interesting drive back home....

It WILL be good to see everyone once again! And finally, to meet Bigs and Ketchmi!

C'mon Hammah, join the crowd!
