>I'm guessin' that 'Concours' in this judging does not mean 'original.
I should have clarified, it was a "People's Choice" type "concours". The judges were all of the Sharks in the Mountains 928ers.

Greg,
Thanks for the brake fluid. I'm going to go through the euro over the winter so it's set up for next years SITM. I had such a good time. Hanging out bs'ing was the best way to get to know fellow sharksters. That much fun should be illegal . . . well almost

Hey, i am home now too as of an hour ago!!! The car ran perfectly accept for the sticking heater valve i had to wire shut in clarksville Tn. Monday morning because the heat was getting unbearable, great AC after that though, and no other problems. I am very glad to have made the trip for the first time in my 5 years of 928 ownership.
After leaving SITM on Sunday morning Lynn and i visited the swing bridge at Grandfather mountain and The waterfall at Linville falls. Sunday night we stopped at a Hotel in Nashville, right off the Interstate and the place was in a terrible part of town which i didn't realize when we pulled in. Two unsavory gentlemen outside the hotel told me to, "Watch your car, those wheels might not be there in the morning" as i stepped across the street to get some beer. Lynn and I ended up returning the room keys and driving another hour north and staying in Clarksville. The gas station i bought the beer from had a little 3 inch thick bullet proof glass lined cubicle that the attendant sat in, and i had to hand her the money for my beer through a tray.
Monday Morning Lynn and I stopped at Mammoth Cave State park just outside of Bowling Green Kentucky and took one of the six available tours through just one section of the cave (there are 350 KNOWN miles of interconnecting caves that are all part of Mammoth Cave).
Monday night we tried to stay in Indianapolis but there was a classic car show going on at the speedway or something, so all the hotels for 50 miles around were booked solid with lots of nice muscle cars in every lot. So, once again we had to drive another hour past our intended destination for a hotel room.
And here we are, just got back to Peosta, Iowa about an hour ago.

want to say thanks to those who were involved in helping me get my problem fixed. dave, jeannie, wally, doc mohr, jay, tim murphy and everyone who helped in the field on saturday. car ran great all the way home and hopefully that will be the end of it.
for those who don't know, my crank bolt sheared off on the way down dumping the pulley, damper, all the belts and the front washer off the crank. fortunately i had the belly pan to catch it all. 230 mile flat bed to daves house, pilfer a crank bolt from one of tim murphy's kits and by 2:30 am we were fixed (or we thought.) saturday noticed the pulley was wobbling. took off all the belts and found the pulley loose. turns out the crank bolt was too long (sized for tims pulley.) couple of washers stolen from a couple of buddies steering wheels and we had it running again. off to daves, cut a 1/4 inch off the bolt, reinstall with locktight and it's been good since. what a weekend

Hi Tom,
The 928 crowd is such a cool crew. Was a great hangout, drive and shark fixing
weekend. Heard saturday night at Chateau Roberts turned into
Repairs in the Mountains. (RITM)
I now know what a MityVac does and am beginning to get an inkling of the
928 HVAC system. So there's wire around the inop heater valve and a Dave
and Jeannie stick from their yard holding the re-circulation door closed.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
The stick in the passenger footwell matches the fuse/relay timber cover.![jumper](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/jumper.gif)
Another year of repairs and driving before SITM 2006.

Rixter, We did make it back okay, with a little adventure. Stopped outside of Ashville to eat. I broke the 14 point connector trying to jump start the shark. Finally taped it back together enough to get it going. I did not shut it off until we stopped for the night around Montgomery. Luckily I got it started the next morning and drove to Ocean Springs without turning it off . Waiting for the new 14 point connector from DR.
Anybody have any idea how to put the connector together without breaking it. What a ham fisted clutz I am.
