l left around 12:30 too and saw him also. Lucky for me i was behind slower traffic at the time. I drove in to Boone to get stuff at the Walgreens and a burger from McDonalds. Police activity everywhere in Boone.

I almost got nailed by a ranger on the BRP yesterday on the way home. I pulled into an overlook to see if he'd turned around to come look for me. He didnt. I only did 50 miles on the BRP. Way too many tourist. I got off and took 81 north home at 75-85 mph. Occasional jaunts at 95-100. I got home at 6:30pm. The truckers were resonable for a change. The only traffic i hit was in Northern VA and DC. I thought it was weekday it was so bad.

With out lights he would of had a tough time keeping up with Terri...we all did!

Actually, i think thats why he let us off, once he got on your tail and you put your foot down he was probably having a chuckle to himself trying to stay on our tail.
He probably had his finger on that light bar button for a while but was thinking..."naw...not yet....a little faster....a few more turns...mmm...right .......about....now..GOTCHYA!

Thanks, Mark!

Yeah no kidding!
I forgot the guys name, but i think his water pump seized at the park and was flat bedded out. They were doing the timing belt/waterpump at Dave and Jeanies when i left. I hope it went well because when they were hand pulling the crank through the first few turns to check the tension the belt jumped. I dont think they initially tightend it enough to hold for even a hand cranking. When i walked up and saw the crank pulley not even close to 45' and the belt was loose...i was thinking this could be ugly. I assume they would have to retime it before going any farther?

Tony-
Thanks for posting that. I now have it printed and proudly displayed on my wall! I'm gonna have look into getting me one of those toys. The graphing tells it all. Ther's some serious acceleration and braking on John's. I'm surprised not so much on the lateral G's. The perma-grin is back.

Phil,
I'm glad you & your son are ok. That must have scared the bajesus out of you two. Looks like a big hammer and a can of white spray paint and your off and running. j/k I know you two will have it good as new. Keep us informed.

I think your reading the wrong chart. LATERAL g's, the middle one, shows the turning forces. The bottom is acceleration.
Ill PM you the other ones.

It got our attention. Steven was driving, handled it like a pro, but was too rattled to continue so I drove the last hour to get home. We will get it back to 100% real soon. The good news is that 50% of my headlight upgrade is now paid for!

Thanks for posting that Tony. I was gonna ask, but you beat me too it. Too bad you werent in the car when Jay Kempf and I went back up Rt-80 after dinner. I might have pulled better than .9g on some of those turns. You can tell from the graph that my speed was fairly steady the whole way up the mtn. I dont remember tapping the brakes too much and i was in 1st gear for almost the entire way up keeping the engine on the boil.

Road map of my Gtech run

Start at rt-105 & rt-221 intersection and end at Grandfather Mountain entrance road

Default Damage

We tagged a deer on the way home. Luckily we were only an hour from home.
