...and with the speaker surrounds, maybe you could just take our word that it is factory and leave them on. You know you want to.
You're right, I do want to........

The phone has been removed, leaving four holes in the console (another item that needs attention). I do not believe the phone that was in the car was a Porsche unit.

There should be a new profile status for Chuck....a step beyond "Addict". Something like "Aficionado" or "Curator" or "Connoisseur".
Isn't there a specific word for the owner of a collection, or museum who is an expert on the collectibility/value of the artifacts?
How about:
Please... I know there's probably a name for my problem.... SICK is more like it! Really, the paint looks terrible! Not something that cannot be fixed but it really does look bad. I think you know, before anyone see's this car it will be "standing tall" or at least "taller".

Me too. They will at some point get a freshening up with gloss black powder coating.

Thanks. I have lusted after this car for 5 years and should have bought it the last time it went up for sale by the original owner. Would have loved to get the $40k McIntosh sound system that WAS in the car.
Chuck may we please have pics and details on where and how the rear washer works? Where is the switch, where is the reservoir? NICE-looking car :cheers
Heinrich:
Here are some pictures of the wood wheel, speaker bezels and washer nozzle. H, I don't know the answers to your questions but will certainly figure them out over the next few months. Not sure about the little button on the intermitent wiper control.
Real nice Chuck. I am sure when you are done it will be "all that and a bag of chips".
I am not a big fan of wood interior trim on the 928, but love it on older cars and Jags, etc......
However, in this particular instance, I like it and could easily live with it.
As for the rear washer...neat little gizmo, but glad it ain't on my car. Looks a bit funny just sitting there all by itself. I am sure you will be over that one too in a few months. I would expect that the unit draws from the main resevoir and has it's own pump. (one more little thing to go wrong in time). The button on the intermittant would probably be for that washer. I doubt that Porsche would have hooked the fronts and back up together...this would cause all washers to to flow and all wipers to commence wiping. You can't even get more than one window to activate at a time on the later cars. Another thought is the rear wiper switch as well, maybe the forward or rear position "held" activates it.
The car is rightious and I can't wait to see it when you have gone through a case or two of Q-Tips!

Got the "Darth Vader" look.
Someone sure went a long way to get wood around all them speaker grilles.
My S4 has the intermittent wiper and intensive washer control under the pod.
Any controls there on the black GTS?
Black wheels always look mean. Even meaner on a black/black/black car.
Too bad about the missing McIntosh equipment.
I was thinking further on those speaker surrounds and had a thought. What if, instead of someone going through the effort of matching the surrounds to the rest of the wooden interior items, they went through the effort of having everything replaced by the same aftermarket manufacturer? A possible way of making everything match correctly.
Now that you heard the bad news, just ship the whole non-genuine wood inventory from your car to me - PM me for my address
Yeah, I'd take the stuff also... And I'm sure it does not fit on RHD and pre-S4 models - LOL!
For some reason I have a LHD auto shifter in my car which may just be a normal shifter flipped the other way around(?), but also I am working on an upgrade to an S4+ interior. Purists may not like it, but everything is reversable/restorable and whilst I have the car I want it the way I want it
