Hi Chuck,
You did good!
I did a little research on some of the woody part numbers a month or so ago and a lot of it still shows as current/active part numbers. I also found it funny that the Root Wood Auto Shift **** is actually priced less than the original Leather Style shift ****, go figure!

>or, is the leather unit REALLY expensive?
Both are in the mid to high $200 range
Actually the Root Wood (dark or light) and leather Airbag Steering wheel could be a lot worse, it is currently priced at $1038.06

We'll work on it over the next few weeks. Have a feeling Keith is correct about the supply line coming from the front resevoir. I looked briefly for the hoses with the hatch open but nothing was clearly visible. I'll look at it again tomorrow.

Black GTS is here
Hey Chuck,
Car looks very imposing in the photos, I can only imagine how it looks in the real world. Between this GTS and the 78 rehab I suspect you'll be a busy guy in the next few month's.
Congrats,
Gary L.

Chuck,
Amazing, just amazing. That interior is truly unique and I'm glad you will probably keep all the pieces installed. Too bad about the McIntosh system. I can only imagine what it must have sounded like.

I had some wheels stripped and painted Black (993 TT black metalic) Chuck, ostensibly for the S4. But they have been stored in the garage with careful wrapping, etc, yet there is STILL a chip in one now after 2 years.
This has brought me to possibly powder coating them, which should hold up better under actual use. A shiny metalic black is what I am looking for.
I just bought some Turbo twists from a 996TT yesterday, and these are going to be made black as well. I was speaking to the distributor and he mentioned that wheels don't hold up well on the heat quotient regarding the powder coating process:
DOES anyone have any good bad info on this? I don't want warped wheels.... if painting is safer I will simply try and find a tougher paint.

Just got home from having NC inspection done and got a chance to look at the car in direct sunlight. The shop who did the inspection commented on how clean the car tested.
Although the paint doesn't show it in these pics, it looks like the PO washed the car with sandpaper. The paint is in really rough shape! It's amazing how good it can look in pictures and how rough it can look in real life.
Stopped by the body shop to get an estimate on having the "A" pillar drip rail trim piece refinished and to inquire about having the car wet sanded. The paint on the front bumper cover is in rough shape as well. Obviously painted once before and needs to be redone, very poor job. The rear bumper cover had the "928 GTS" emblem separated with the 928 in the center of the bumper cover and the GTS on the right side near the tail light. Well, I pull the GTS emblem off and some knuckle head sprayed clear on the rear bumper cover WITH the emblem on the car. So, now there is the impression of the letters GTS left in the finish now that the emblem has been removed. Unbelievable! It too will have to removed and resprayed. Trust that all will be done correctly this time.
Also stopped by the Dent Wizard and had them look at fixing the crease in the left rear quarter panel and another slight impression in the right rear quarter panel. According to the owner, both will come out with no problem.
Hope you guys don't mind if I post a couple more pictures, this the first day I've had it out in the sunshine and wanted to snap a couple.....
