Check that your tensioner arm shoulder bolt is not bent! That's one thing that might move the belt.

I think I checked that when I took it off. I'll double check before it goes back on.

Count me in for a set of 32 valve pointers. Let me know how much deposit or total you need.

It may be worthwhile to start a new thread titled "32 valve cam timing tool" or similar, to get the attention of 32 valve owners.

I picked up the hubs from the machine shop today, and I will ship them out shortly.

I have only one used pair left for sale!

The machine shop messed up on one, so I have to order another. If more people want new or used, I'll add them to the order, but this will be all that I will make.
...

I've got the go ahead to work on the 32V pointer.

It will be laser cut, stainless steel, with 0 and + - degree marks. I'm still unsure how accurate it will be, compared to the lobe measurement, but it should be close, and a whole lot easier to do.

I'll start a new thread on the topic, in case there's things I haven't thought of that should be incorporated.

Note: It will work on the 16V conversions, so if and when the fancy pointer is available, I'll offer it for sale at my cost for those that have the hand-made pointers.
...

Nice new avatar, BC!

Note that the start of this thread shows the 16V prototype, here is the finished kit, as shipped:

Note: I have the parts for only (2) more kits, and it's unlikely that I will have more 16V pointers laser cut.
...

Harvey,

Don't you have the 32V kit?

clic pic for thread

Jim R. had a nice review of the tool (in this thread).
...

SMTCapeCod,

I've sold a couple to folks with 16V Euro's. You should safely be able go at least 4 cam degrees. The main benefit is to be able to syncronize the cams, which can be as much as 1/2 tooth off right/left.

I have the kit, but will not get around to using it until it's time for a new timing belt in 45K miles or so. It just doesn't make sense to change out parts that only have 15K miles on them... I had no way of knowing whether Ken would still be making these when the time came for a new TB so I gambled... looks like I made the right choice.

OK OK OK OK .....
I realize this thread is 11 years old....
But a very interesting idea to consider.

Did they work?

Memories? Experiences? Are they still available?

Forgive me for reanimating a zombie thread LOL.

Jadz928 had a kit installed on his 84 Euro back then.
Car is now ours and the kit is still there, along with the 85 cam gears and a PKTensioner.
Works great.
