6 mumfs ago I c'uldnt even spell injuneer now I r 1.

Seriously, been in Civil/Structural Engineering for the last 20 years. Now I just project manage the ancilliaries to the Engineering. This actually equates to; correcting the spelling grammar and content of reports written by Geotech, Environmental and Building Services engineers, Architects, Archaeologists and Ecologists.

Along the way I've designed or redesigned Bridges, Buildings, Telecoms towers, and other stuff.

Oh and I washed Rhondas GT today.

My primary job is Assistant Director of Student Information Systems at the
University of California, Berkeley. That's why I usually just say IT Manager
when asked. I'm also an independent computer consultant and web
software developer. As a hobby, I'm an Open Road Rally driver and
Event Photographer.

Some years with what started out as a small (is now probably the largest independent in the area) import shop servicing mostly Por/BMW/VW/Audi in Ferrysburg, MI (near Spring Lake/Grand Haven, if you know where that is). Rounded out my 928 experience there, although at the time it was mostly the early cars since that was when the later cars were still under warranty.

then onto the now-defunct Sports Car Service of Ann Arbor, MI. Mostly British, some Italian & German.

then Eurotec Motors, also of Ann Arbor. A shout out to owner Tim Pott, for anyone that visits Eurotec. Early years, it was typical wrench stuff. Later years, spent some time doing restoration work like stiffening 914's and replacing rotted out pieces of 914 & 911. And tending to track cars and building race motors and trannys of the 901/911/930 variety. Outgrowth of that was several years co-campaigning an early 911S SCCA GT-3 car with a Eurotec client.

also some time mixed in there at what is now Lotus Engineering (yes, an arm of the company that makes Lotus Cars) doing dyno setup, emissions, catalyst, and powertrain research, at the time was mostly Ford passenger car stuff and monster I-6 and V12 diesels such as Isuzu. What fun, watching those things throw titanium driveshaft through a 1/4" steel plate safety cage and cinderblock wall. And Detroit Diesels with bigger-than-your-head turbos, exhaust-side glowing red.

some years at Motorola in automotive electronics + telematics hardware and software + integrated phones. Development projects such as ECU's that sit on the MOST ring in current S-Klasse, new E-Klasse, Maybach, current BMW 5- and 7-series.

Currently a consultant to Honda. Technical strategy and engineering in-vehicle electronics & communications systems.

Ok, Electronic Technician at one time, then Architectural/Prototype Model Maker, ET/Tech Support again, then on to All American Racers during their IMSA Prototype/Indycar phase as a Modelmaker/Wind Tunnel Technician, then off to be a mechanic with Father-in-Law's independent shop, and NOW I'm an Escrow Officer with Swift Escrow Company, Inc. in the San Diego Area (shameless plug). It's a living...

After graduating with a degree in Environmental Sciences, bought a motorcycle and left my home town in Ontario, Canada headed for Californee. No prospects, didn't know a soul out here - after a few months got a position as a Flight Test Engineer on the B-1B program at Edwards Airforce Base and the manufacturing facility in Palmdale, CA (a long story).

After a few years moved to San Diego to work in the Environmental, Health and Safety compliance dept. of a large aerospace manufacturing company, eventually moving to another to head their compliance organization.

Did some consulting work then joined a privately held company that develops web-based compliance solutions for Fortune 500 companies.

What a long strange trip it's been...

-Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream
I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been-

Pretty much sums it up really. Now name that tune
