928 Owner Occupations

I worked at a high tech corp for many years doing many things. Started off on automated assembly line developement and ended up in radiated emissions testing on servers and workstations. Got tired of corporate America, quit and started residential building.
The thing I notice is that most of us have had several "careers". No more twenty year retirees. Sign of the times I guess.

Wellllll,,,,,,
I don't seem to fit the sampling pattern....
I'm a studio-jeweller, which means I design and fabricate by hand, working through themes and motifs which interest me. I sort of make what I want to, then find a customer for it, rather than making what the customer wants...
I spend 9 months of the year in Tropical North Queensland, then, during the wet season, I go down to Hobart, Tasmania, where I have another Studio/Outlet which my son manages, for the summer.
I've exhibited in the States about a dozen times [SOFA (Sculpture, Objects, Functional Art Exposition) in Chicago at Navy Pier, New York at the Armoury, and also in Fla.] and also a quite a few times in Japan, Germany, etc.
I love Porsche because it's a big, beautifully-made jewel...

I've done a little bit of a lot of things over the years, but for the past 15, I've been with Lockheed Martin. Started on the floor as your average A&P mechanic, and worked my way up into middle management, then back down to supervision. I worked for several years as a supervisor over the Presidential Fleet of C-9C's. (for the shorter hops that don't need a 747, and for the First Lady, Secretary of State, etc....) I'm currently supervisor over our Backshops, and have GOOD access to the machine shop, electrical shop, composite shop, hydraulic shop, and sheetmetal fabrication shop. All great areas to be involved with as a 928 owner and constant tinkerer. Needless to say, there are quite a few aircraft quality parts on my 928, as well as lots of aircraft grade hardware.

Let's see...
Lawn Mower, Haberdasher, Air Traffic Control Radar Tech (Ramstein AB), Haberdasher (again), Electronics Production Manager, Auto Parts Salesman at a Beck Arnley store in Santa Cruz, Veteran's Affairs Advisor & Pre-legal Advisor at UCSC, Teaching Assistant in Environmental Studies at UCSC, Assistant Art Gallery Director - Vorpal Gallery in SF, and for the past 20 years - Attorney.
Ambulance chasing pays the bills (that's where the 928 comes in handy) but my specialty is civil appeals (recently kicked Ford Motor Company's butt in a 5 year battle that went the whole way to the CA Supreme Court).
Self taught mechanic (my form of therapy). I've had my 928 for 18 years and the only time it's been in the shop was for an alignment. Recently acquired a second 928: a '89 S4 5sp with LSD and sport suspension.
My accountant tells me I can retire at 80 if I get a second job.

Boy, am I in the wrong place!
I'm a 41/2 year retired family doctor who now sells photographic equipment on eBay to supplement my income.
Drove sharks passively for 8 years and now am an "active" (read wrenching) owner in my wallet's defense.
