And the freshly painted/polished wheels were only on the car for 3 weeks! Happened on the Blue Ridge Parkway at SITM. Long story getting it fixed and refinished (twice!) but here is the final product - the story includes a used wheel for parts. Bolted it on the car Friday afternoon! Looks as good as it did the first time.

Chuck: Wouldn't a pot hole that does that kind of damage to a rim also damage the tire? Were you able to reuse the existing tire? Just curious...

After having bent 2 rims on the Blue Ridge Parkway...I can attest that the tire WILL flex around the pothole...but the rim will NOT.

For the 2000 event, I "hired" a driver (JR) to pilot my '83 and I drove my '93 GTS so both could be in the event.

Looks like I am not going to make it. The drive is too long for my time budget and my flying to 928 events budget went to last minute tic to SITM

Looks like we have three coming from the Seattle area..leaving really early on Thursday..hooking up with another lister in Ogden, UT......and hoping to catch Louie Ott who is leaving a day earlier.

Don't know if we can make it...but will keep an eye out for the Denver group. We will be running two way radio's set on channel 7 (sub channel 0 ) ...

We know that summer can be warm in Wichita. The car show and concours will be IN DOOR in the Air Conditioned comfort of the convention center. Where else can you park your 928 in such a cool and secure location for an event?

What is the deal...only this many folks/cars committed...come on people...this is the International Convention...and it is located in about the center of the Country..so what gives?!?!

Okay...here's my proposal...

For every bonafide rennlister who responds to this post and brings a copy of it with he or she...I will buy a drink for regardless of it's alcoholic content.

And for those on the way...well, I'm sure we'll get the opprotunity to share a few.
