Still looking for a cheap flight... It's too far for me to drive at that time. Can't afford to spend six days on the road right now.
Best offer I've seen so far is on Travelocity, a flight and hotel combo (United / Hyatt). Any "insider tips" from the frequent travellers?

You might get a better deal if you fly into KC (many more flight options) and rent a car (or catch a ride) and drive the 2.5 or so hours down to Wichita.

Man it's great to see the response for this year's action! We are getting ready for quite a party to be sure. Some of the old timers will remember the street party and the newbies will just not believe it, quite a piece of Americana, right here in the ha ha heartland.
Nicole usually Wichita and Kansas City are common rated by the majors so check around, especially on the net fares and discount sites. Some of the discount carriers will have better pricing to OKC or MCI (Kansas City) and I'll bet you can get a ride from either spot. Note if you fly into Tulsa on Thursday (afternoon or evening) you could take in the track action at Hallett. We could arrange to pick you up there too. The Wichita Hyatt was still offering the $79 "summer rate" if you called last time I heard, so keep that in mind and yep there is space left.
Let me know what you work out on the flights and we'll get you picked up in a 928!!! Bring tons of goodies, there will be space to display them.

Betsy and I will attend and introduce my "new" '87 S4 to the group. We're departing Wednesday and plan to stay the first evening on the road somewhere around Tucumcari, NM and Thursday night in Sand Springs, OK and meet up with the Hallett group that evening. Sadly I won't have my track car, so we'll hang a bit at the track and take a few PAX rides and then leave early for Wichita.

I've been quiet on the boards latley as I've been busy, but, not too busy to miss the Wichita happening. I will be flogging the '83 to get it out there to Sand Springs, OK by Thursday evening, in time for Hallett action.
Caravan pickings seem very slim out this way as it seems most people are planning for a Friday arrival. Rich, I hope to be a short hop north of you in Taos, NM by Wednesday night.
It should be a very relaxing 3 days of sight seeing and cruising on the way in followed by a Jay Kempf style bee-line bust out Monday morning.
