Default The guys who did my countach barnfind are tackling a 928

The guys from Ammo NYC who pulled my countach out of the barn that had been sitting in for 20+ years just rescued a 928…

Always like watching Larry from back in his Drive Clean days. Amazing how durable the Porsche paint is. That thing was really neglected and white is unforgiving. Thanks for sharing!

Default Incredable Transformation

....but I don't know if it will ever run again. This is the problem of having a car detailed by a detail guy and not a guy who knows anything about cars. There was so much water and moisture put into every nook and cranny of this thing that they might as well have submerged it in a swimming pool. I wonder if they ever got it to run, and if so, if anything worked, like the guages on the pod and so forth. Anyway, cool vid and transformation of a nice 88 S4:

Woops, I guess I enzoed. Anyway, this videoo is cringe worthy. He might as well have submerged the car in a lake. I can't imagine it ever ran again, or if it did, ran right. Not how it should be done. Steamed the pod and consol then washed it with water. The engine - good lord.

Best way to clean a 928 (or any car).
Water, soap and steam everywhere.
Inside and out!
Electrical connections love that...

How come that car can sit outside for ten years yet have a near perfect interior yet if I leave a car outside for a day and look at the dash the wrong way it shrinks and cracks!?

As entertainment I enjoyed watching that. And I think the exposure is great for the 928. I am not a regular viewer but have seen this guys video's for many years. I am amazed that he does not wear those onesie white hazmat suits to do this grubby work. ...... 3 points - It looks like he destroyed the build sheet needlessly, it appeared as though he sprayed LOTS of LIQUIDS onto the speaker cones, and he could have done much better in the spare tire trunk

Isn't this a guy who should have an CO2 ICE blaster for the underside (even though that might hurt sales.

These cars are magic! Due to life circumstances I had to leave my euro (well covered) outside for 12 years far away from me with minimal supervision, time and some vandalism resulted in a broken drivers side window allowing the weather in (tough winters, rain etc) I was expecting a disaster BUT MAGICALLY just a minor and limited leather issue and the door speakers work perfectly. And it is still the best smelling car I have ever sat in.

Car sat outside for 10 years. No way it ran to begin with. After the cleaning it was being sent to be restored mechanically so I guess he was being less careful with water then he normally would. Not sure how bad steam is to use but I cleaned my dash and console with the brush and soap technique and never had any issues after that. Really not much water being pushed into areas especially when it's wiped right away and then blown dry.

The brake pressure warning switches will certainly need to be replaced.
