Option Code Questions Inferior Fuel, ABS, Sport Shocks?
While reviewing my option codes sheets see attached, for my two 1984 Euro S car, one built for the German market (white)
the second for the Belgian market (blue), several questions arise and I have noticed some interesting differences and options I am not familiar with. Are options on one car not mentioned on the other car by definition not on the other car? Appreciate your experience.
Belgian Market
I240 "version for countries with inferior fuel",
M470 sport shock absorbers, and
II593 antilock brake system.
I don’t see anything in the car that looks like ABS brakes. What should I be looking for? Is there anything special about the sport shock absorbers? Or the inferior fuel option?
White car has M462 Sekuriflex windshield. What does that mean?
I415 Widening of the gauge on the track on the rear axle?
I417 Rear Package Box?
Both cars have I468 side glasses green and green windshields is that just tint?
Any thing else here I should take notice of?

Reason: clarity

I240 "version for countries with inferior fuel", In the passenger footwell, there is a plug consisting of a male and female plug. In the event of inferior fuel being put into the fuel tank, those plugs are mated and (I believe) the timing is altered to minimize the knocks that would normally be prevalent with inferior fuel.
M470 sport shock absorbers, and
II593 antilock brake system. The antilock braking system was an option in 84. It is hidden in the driver front wheel well in front of the wheel.

White car has M462 Sekuriflex windshield. What does that mean? Sekuriflex is a brand of safety glass manufacturer. The safety glass has a clear plastic sandwiched between two sheets of glass to make it more stabile and less likely to cause harm if it's broken.
I415 Widening of the gauge on the track on the rear axle? Spacers are used to move the wheels and tires to a wider position for handling purposes. it also looks better too!
I417 Rear Package Box?
Both cars have I468 side glasses green and green windshields is that just tint? Factory tint between the 2 layers of glass.

Hope this helps.I left the sport shocks question for someone who might more fully answer about that.

There are also sport springs. When 928MS was replacing my old shocks with new Konis, Carl let me know that my springs had blue stripes on them which signify a sport spring. Not sure what shocks the sport springs were paired with or if the sport shocks also included sport springs.
I see a small white rectangular plug with a green wire in the passenger foot well. Is that what you are referring to as the inferior fuel plug? Or the red plug in the back?
I also see the ABS system in the left front of the blue donor car.
Would it ever be worth it to switch the ABS system over to the white car?
For that matter would it be worth switching the sports shock absorbers and Springs over? Seems unlikely as both cars have 100,000 miles on them. What is wheel housing protection? Or the rear package box? What’s special about the green glass? Sorry for all the questions.

Very small spring rate differences.
Rob Edwards has a handy "cheat sheet" on all of the different spring rates (of course), if you are interested.
Hi, I also have the option for inferior fuel. The green wire is in the passenger footwell and it is connected. Is this actually the function of the wire? Should it be connected if you drive on inferior fuel, or should it be connected if you drive on good fuel. Also, is "inferior" fuel just the one with lower octane level? Here in Belgium, we have RON95 and RON98. The car sticker in the filler cap dictates 98.
What is the downside of driving in inferior fuel setting when you do have superior fuel? Less power?
Just wondering..
(Oh, I'm new, just received my car yesterday! 1984 EURO S 310)
