Just ribbin' you MBMB, hell you have been places where "no man has gone". BTW the accepted method to "wire the flaps permanently open" is to pull the 7.5 amp fuse in the panel, when the flaps are open. Flaps are a good thing in cold climates, you prolly don't need them where you are. Just the same it would be nice to have them work as they were designed.

How hard is taking the pod off? (dare I ask).

I'll add "return flaps to fuctioning cond'n" to my list. The PO's method involved a zip tie.

Taking the pod off is easier than putting it back on, which is easy . . . unless you keep forgetting that the wiper / light stalk unit goes on before the pod bolts in.
