Plug wires are mis-routed.
Jump post cover missing (but of course.)
It is not a Devek Radiator (unless the Devek Rad has plastic side tanks)
The airbox is at a funny angle.
Looks like it is missing the screws that hold the fan shroud to the rad.
The rear does look a smidge low - but the front looks OK.

I love the red interior.

I live close to Boston.

I am willing to attempt a PPI this weekend. However, and - fair warning - if it is in good condition I just might buy it myself... no... don't write that dave... you have no more room for cars ... the wife will want to drive it... but then she might get rid of that old wreck she's working on... are you schizophrenic? no... yes....no ... yes....

If it is a good runner with a bit of service history then $10-12k not a bad price. But, the very first thing I would do is check and release the tension on the torque tube - what's the name of the thing TBF fans? The pinch bolt?

Guys,

I called on this car yesterday. I was interested in finding out where it was in Boston so I picked up the phone and spoke with the dealer. It is 10 minutes down the road from me.

The dealer was not willing to give up much info on the car unless I made a bid on it first and then he would call me back. He told me to put a bid in or around $11000 he would not hold me too it, but if I did but at least he could tell if I was serious. It seems that he has had too many calls from tire kickers and he was sick of wasting his time.

He did tell me that this car was owned locally and it was just traded on a E55 at a local Benz dealer. If anyone is interested in this car I would be more than happy to look at it for them.

Moon.

Worf, the shroud screws seem to be there to me. The post cap is prolly just hanging down, not lost. It is easy to forget to put it back on after a jump start. The wires are definately mis-routed, they belong in a loom under the thermostat housing, which are attached (the looms) to the front engine lift bracket. The wires are after market and prolly the heavy gauge ones that won't fit the stock looms anyway.

Man, you did look close didn't you.....

BTW the E55 is a horse, but unless he got the AMG, then he traded down in my mind.......now the SLC 55 AMG.....WOO HOOO!

Sure. But where is the rest of the cover? The cover that covers the 14-pin connector and is held on by the screw-on post cover which is hopefully 'hanging down'?

Sorry I wasn't clear - I meant both parts of the cover for the area - the post and the harness connector.

You are right, you got great eyes man................If the harness cover is missing, the post cover is also likely gone to the great parts bin in the sky.

The post cap actually holds the harness cover on.....so maybe the both of them are on the engine side of the belly pan.......one can only hope.

Devek is an advertiser here. By all accounts they make and sell great stuff. www.devek.net
But, as worf928 points out, it does not seem to be a Devek radiator in this car.

I just saw the shine of aluminum off the radiator.

My stock radiator was painted black, and most stock radiators I have seen are not so shiny and metallic as this picture. But yes, on closer inspection, the side tanks are not aluminum, so it isn't a Devek radiator. Just a very clean and shiny stock one.

But I still do not like the red stuff!

Does that intake look like it is sitting low campared to the cross brace? My intake is taller than the cross brace, this one looks like it has um.... "settled".

Dave, no fair, you used a bigger picture.......NOW I can see that the drivers side air box strap is on wrong.......

Hard to tell for sure from that camera angle

With my aging eyes I have no choice, isn't bigger always better ?

>NOW I can see that the drivers side air box strap is on wrong.......

Good catch.

Don't forget about those 9 hose clamps that are oriented incorrectly :-)
