Then I broke my pinky...
OOps
Received the foot rest !
And wrapped the exhaust (one handed ^^)
Then received some more stuff !
Can't wait !
My finger kinda healed... crooked, and 1/4 inch shorter...
Door card are installed
Mounted the PS line solidly
The pump I chose is kinda old... I have to bleed it first.
Exhaust wrap is done, no more cooking my butt !
Taking shape !

Electronics are working well !
Gotta clean up now
Idid my first hillclimb !
What better way to do your first race alongside Raymond Boutinaud ?
Despite being in the middle of July it was awesome !
The car is a bit big and heavy for this kind of exercise,
Result ? 8th in production and 1st in class !
Ok, if you include single seaters I'm 24th ^^ But they're cheating !
I did buy that

Got a FIA seat
A FIA solid state circuit breaker
And an automatic fire extinguisher
Forming the extinguisher lines
new seat
Circuit Breaker
Roof being vacuumed
I thought my cam tower were leaking so I replaced the gaskets AGAIN...
And some stuck lifters
I did a photoshop of what the car will look like when done

I molded the headlights
Polyester resin released a LOT of heat ^^
Mais bon, le moule à quand même fonctionné même si les gaz dégagés par le polystyrène ont créé des bulles...
Butg I fixed it
First try:
Il y avait pas assez de mou sur le film à vide, et j'avais des fuites... en plus de ça la résine a mis plus de 4H a polymériser... donc le rendu est moyen...
Il faut que j'améliore mes techniques de bagging !
Out of the mold:
The gel coat I used is crap...
So I didn't use any on the second try !
J'ai eu des petits problèmes d'adhérence sur les flancs verticaux, mais c'est surtout que j'ai pas encore une assez bonne technique !
Well better !
Though I want to redo the whole process to make a better mold, and better parts, less tall.
I put the plexi windows in
I wanted to keep the aluminium window trims to keep a stock look.

So... I was visiting my old job... and they asked me to come back, gave me a raise, and flexible hours... So guess what ? I'm a Porsche Tech again ^^
And the 928's got eyes again !
I received the prototype for the roll center and geometry correction for the front of the 928 !
Door locks bits !
And stalks ! All black anodized cnc aluminum !
Love them !
Carbon roof is at the body shop for it's last clear coat ! Can't wait to have it back and glue it on ! It looks so great !
I took some time to clean the windshield... I never did it, it had a ton of overspray !
I go back to the shop tomorrow, if it doesn't rain I'll drive and tune the car a bit.
December 2nd I gotta have my trailer done so I can bring the 928 to the track !
Not to race, but to show it off and tune in on an empty road.

All I can say is incredible. Very motivating.
The rear hatch latch is intriguing. I will have a look back through the thread to see how it works. Mine is a constant battle since its all falling apart. I often thought if I could just add a push button type variant then I would be happy. Might be a small market there.

Thanks
For the latch, it's a "quick latch", so there is no locking, in latches and unlatches when you press on it. It's fairly secure, but not really for street parking :/
Today I worked at the shop. We cleaned my friend's engine, and I took the opportunity to drive the 928... eheheh I already love it !
I do need to move the pedals back by a good 3 inches though !
The power steerings works perfectly... works way better when you actually fill it up the proper amount of fluid ^^
The engine still needs some tuning but it works already eheh. It drifts well, very easy to throw around !
Quite pleased with the sound !

OK so a LOOOT happened in the last months...
In October I got asked to work back at the Porsche Center, for three months, I agreed.
At the end of the contract they asked me to come back full time.
In the same time I got offered a job in mechanical design at another company, got to the end of most of my projects, and found a new shop !
So, I accepted the job at Porsche, the other job was super nice, but it would have been hard to continue both BAD and a new job.
I got the new shop, a lot bigger, more expensive but still fair.
I had a week to move my stuff ( I still have the old shop for another month), I did, and I love it ! There is so much room !
I'll get some go jacks to move it easier.
The old shop had 4 lights. This one has 22. No dust, better insulation, easier to go in and out... perfect !
To be able to work from anywhere I got a laptop instead of my worstation. Then immediately upgraded it with 32Gb of RAM and 2Tb of memory. Should be plenty, enough for a few years !
Monday I start back at Porsche, I hope they had time to install my lift

For most people and EFI conversion is a can of worms that never gets finished. A huge percentage of such projects that are documented here start out bravely and then stall. So keep the CIS as fall back.

Advanced
I converted my '82 928s a couple of years ago to full EFI using a Microsquirt. Cheap and easy and way better than mechanical injection. I sold my CIS on and it paid for about 50% of the conversion. The 928 with a modern EFI is a lovely car!
