Default Anyone got one for sale?

John’s running tests on the oil flow. This is with a pulse width modulator on the pump electrical circuit.

This is the flow rate for cooling (this particular spray arrangement is all about cooling, not s much about lubrication):

Colin's got one but it's part of a 928 gender reassignment kit he's selling. Not sure if he'd just sell the crown jewel.

Why would anyone “transition” now with the manual and auto price not too far from each other?

Because the siren's song of the 5-speed sings way louder than the slow, ponderous dirge of a Rogerbox.

As the people with the automatics effortless drive down the road, no cumbersome clutch, no crunchy gears, no fear of getting stuck in traffic, no effort required to go just as fast/damn near as quick as a manual 928.

Let's call it as it is: It's an absurd "macho" thing.

Guilty as charged.

I will certainly agree that Rogerboxes are _awesome_ in traffic jams.

I don't know Rob, when you pull it back from 4th into 3rd and put your foot in the water pump, as the engine winds up to 6000rpm...pretty intoxicating. And no pedal dance needed.

For what it's worth, any disparagement of automatics I do is solely ribbing for Roger. And I'm realizing that Roger hasn't even posted in this thread, so the net is that I'm crapping up an otherwise high quality technical thread on transmissions. I'll go repent and working on improving my S/N ratio. Mods feel free to cleanup on Aisle 928 here if you like.

F^vk it, let’s all post whatever banter here. No probs from me, as long as that “ghetto” dude disassembler doesn’t show up. More post is the better, maybe someone will see this and sell me another g28.13!

In amy case, there are two approaches to transmission oil jets. Lubrication and cooling. For best lubrication, shoot the jet in at the in mesh of the gears. For best cooling, shoot much higher volume on the top axle gears anywhere else except in mesh.

Some photos of John testing a cooling solution with heated oil:

I’m including a camping photo from this morning to reinforce the point that there is no such thing as off topic post in this thread!

for me it is the satisfaction of the combined driving experience. Sound of the engine, torque pushing you into the seat, deciding when to shift & purposely shifting through the gears. Feeling the steering input, all while planted in the comfort and carefully laid out interior. All of it combines driving into that perfect concert.

One box has carbon synchros, the other two have steel synchros. It'll be interesting to see how each type reacts to 75W-140 lubricant.

Anyone selling G28.13s?
