pearl white is one of the best colors ever introduced in an 928!

My friend has a spectra chrome system he just set up.. pretty cool stuff:

https://spectrachrome.com/

We did the tail light housings the other day. You have to prep as if you are painting, then apply a base coat (the White) then you chemically wash it with one toxic brew, then spray the chrome, then chemically wash it with another toxic brew, then it can be tinted if required.

A Drooman-restored 928 gathers no moss. That pearl is amazing! Do you think the spectrachrome would be reflective enough to rehabilitate an H4 or H5 headlight reflector? I have a couple that I hate to throw away but haven't bothered to spring for a home physical vapor deposition setup

I'm going to do some of those next. I'm no optics engineer but the spectrachrome has to be much much better than the original wasted finish on most of them. How it compares to the original optical qualities of the H4 is unknown to me. You can also apply any amount of any color tint... I might try a little blue tint in an H4 when I get time.

To the extent that people bitch about the pattern that H5's throw it may not matter whether the reflectivity is perfect or not. Please report back when you do a headlight reflector!

Your rear reflectors are certainly going to be brighter with this than the original silver coating.

slow assembly .... There's a black bumper plug set and a pearl set. I know black is "correct" but I like the pearl. There'll be some other subdued mods like this here and there.

I would hazard the guess that the 122 3189 is the build number that that sunroof belonged to, but it's different from the one (124-1226) on your options sticker, (?)
