I haven't even got 1/2 my engine apart yet. And you've completely tore this car apart and put it back together, including paint!!!!! We started our projects at almost the exact same time too!
so light !!
if you would say....bring that motor to ROW specs...it would be quite fast
Then..if you would...say....lighten the internals a bit, ad a hotter cam..do some adjustments here and there...add some stiffer shocks and 968 anti roll bars...it would be a very very fun to drive car and quite fast as well.
Living in the foothills can make for some wickedly fun drives! But truth be told I am a bit bored of the same old runs. Today I packed a few tools & ripped it up in the back country for 170 miles or so.
In the morning it was snow & then it all melted under the sun. Honestly I was looking forward to the snow. I'd like to get more comfortable/get better at controlled slides on loose or slippery surfaces.
The sun is welcomed though & I need the vitamin D after spending too much time indoors.
I am so pleased to find some excellent roads I didn't know existed. The only hick up was the heater coolant valve cable can't be controlled from the cab, so I dis engaged it & manually move the valve. The heater controls need a big time re-do, but on a fall or spring day it is quite comfy inside.
Yesturday with the snow & rain I had a tough time driving in the city with the hatch completely fogged up & the pass side mirror not working for me at all.
Today fixed the left brake light ground problem & replaced the leaking oil fill cap for $8.00
Having a big wind noise problem with the driver's door after the repaint for some reason.
Why does it's stance not look right? Are you running funky tire sizes? Looks a little like a Supera I once looked at the had the rear raised to fit wide tires in the wheel wells.
I'm not as up on the 924 as the 944, is that just how they sit? I mean it looks cool, just... Off.
Love the pics! Wonder if the door didn't align right? Or maybe weather stripping not fitting back right?
Not that I'm telling you anything you haven't thought of.
Keep us posted, I always look forward my latest installment of "Noah's wide world of Porsches"
I think you need a meme... Yep, all your hard work deserves one... Hmmmmm..... Brb
It indeed looks a big high off the rear end...maybe its missing all the insulation and trim..and thats why? You didnt take off the rear torsion bar carrier assy did you? BTW, did you have the alignment checked and done to it ?
How does he handle at 7/10s or 8/10s in corners? I suspect he oversteers.
If you plan to autocross, as you said, during the summer, you'll probably achieve more neutral handling, and less oversteer, by lowering the rear 25-30 mm via the spring plates.

Very insightful. I noticed oversteer yesturday. Morghen the Torsion assembly as a whole was lowered to replace torque tube. I suspect you are correct, with the weight reduction it sits higher.
What is the easiest method of re-indexing?
So maybe you CAN fix stupid. Spent most of the day diagnosing & test driving... taking electrical connections and components apart & drying and inspecting them. Replaced the cork gasket below the afm.
Gramps has had a tough time starting & I've been experiencing a huge reduction of power (25% reduction and it seems like it's running on 1 or 2 cylinders). I washed the engine really well and thought I got something wet. Just the timing of when he started running crappy was right after I gave him a bath first thing in the morning, then topped him up with more 87 octane...
---------------------
Fast forward to tonight.
Then I decided to add some 94 octane to the 87 I've been running.
