Boy, this feels like race car building. Hey, where is the ecm on these cars? Not in the pass side footwell.
So the "options tag" is missing from the car, but I suspect at one time it was an a/c car because of the hole that the p.o. covered up. and the a/c compressor mount that was on the engine.
Is there a reference chart I can look up the oem colour based on my vin #? Or should I call the dealer?
...single stage paint, hey fellas? Is that what was used for the factory? It looks like single stage..

I think I'm going to push myself hard & see about repainting the interior & exterior & getting everything else in order within 2 weeks. Possible?
It don't know about Porsche, but most, if not all cars, of that time period should be single stage paint. I've been doing a lot of reading about paint lately, getting ready for trying my hand at it. From what I understand two stage paint didn't come on the scene till the 80s, and wasn't universal till the 90s. EPA had a lot to do with that too I guess.
But Porsche, who knows.... You know how the Germans are..... Lol
Someone I'm sure knows for sure. mrgreenjeans I'm looking at you.....
I think you sould leave painting for later if you really want to paint it. Get it roadworthy and smell free and start enjoying it on the road for a change..then if you want strip it and paint it.
924 looks good on the road even without racing livery, complete the car in OEM trim and lets see some of those awesome pictures you take but with a 924 in them.
BTW, did you think about upgrading your camera gear?
why have you removed everything? was it drentched in gas?
M,
The truth of the matter is simply I don't know.
The fuel smell is a sickly sweet smell. Parts of the carpet (such as the entire hatch and rear quarters section reeks of this, which I am sure is drenched in petrol). And then the other fabric has been saturated also with exhaust smell from destroyed exhaust & shifter seal, hatch and sunroof seal. Next into the mix is the bio toxic mildew which gives a real "truth" element to the term "greenhouse" when referring to the cabin. In fact I remember pushing the car into the shop when removing the torque tube and seeing condensation on the dash gauges and thinking that was odd.

This realization of these problems set me in a bit of a tail spin emotionally. But I just kept at it, everyday this week... a bit in the morning & a bit at night.
I needed something. Some positive... element. And I got it today.
