Yes to the headlight covers. Right now I am unsure about what to do for the foglight holes-
Under contemplation:
Just cover them smooth. Install lightweight fog lights. duct air to brakes.
Hmmm.
Regarding the air duct, the rennslist member with the red/white Canon track car looks to be using the lhs headlight bucket as an intake duct for the engine I assume. Would like to see more deets on that. Then on the other hand I think Van Svenson is using the bumper signals for engine air intake. Was leaning towards that...
But any duct work or lights adds weight to the front. Right now I am a bit heavier in the front end, and have to start reducing weight up there. Would love a carbon fibre hood. But don't know where to buy an affordable one.
Now when I weighed the car, it was static. I notice when driving that sometimes driving the steering gets light when throttling, so must be pretty balanced when the suspension gets squished.
Maybe that's the ticket, just lower the *** end a degree or two to shift the weight slightly.
At work we sometimes install windshields, and always have "bytl" left over. I've had this in the garage for a while. "Bytl" is sticky stuff, that I think is good for other purposes also, such as plugging holes in firewalls, etc.
The rollbar c-piller I installed interfered with the fuel fill tube cover, so I've been driving for a year with duct tape covering that area. Enough is enough. My solution was to slice the cover & pound out one section for clearance. I didn't want to do this but that whole area is a fabrication nightmare. So I did what I thought I needed to, in order to move the heck onward.
Not pretty. maybe I'll clean it up. But I plan on replacing all the fuel lines in the winter so I'll go back in in the not so distant future.
Looking back... yeah I could have made it prettier. Oh well, function first, pretty second. I also applied bytl to the black round fuel access hole cover. 150-200kph will blow it off & is a source of exhaust fumes in the cab.
