Default Winter Projects - what's everyone got planned??

Ok, as fall fast approaches, then the ole tale of winter..what have you got planned for your P-Car? engine rebuild, tranny rebuild, repaint, suspension...

I am going to build a spare motor over the winter, standard 2.5L, head is out for refresh. Funny how you fit a complete
2.5L on an engine stand, one small container of oil, and a 36 quart ice chest with everything labeled in freezer bags.
Sorry about the quality of the photo..

I'll be doing the Rennbay balljoint kit, Koni yellows in the rear (fronts too if I can come up with some cash), painting the cam cover, replacing the radiator hoses, replacing the warped and cracked coverlay, and saving money for a paint job. If I can get all that done, I'll be happy.

Depending on where I store the car, either nothing or a vacuum line overhaul, which would probably lead to detailing & polishing stuff in the engine bay too... I'd also love to re-finish my brake calipers, they look like crap at the moment. We'll see...

Ski,
That's pretty impressive, and ambitious. I'd like to do that one day. Hopefully, in the next few years. I think I need to buy a house first, as the land-lords and the fiancee would not approve of a rebuild in the living room. ;-)

In the meantime, a new suspension should be in by late October/early November. This winter, I hope to find the space to refresh the head, and do the timing belt/water pump. If there's time/money, I'll also do a full rebuild of the steering system.

I forgot to add the dash lights to the list. I also need to replace the voltage regulator but I'll do that before winter.
Hey buckshot, how much was the hatch microswich? I may need one too.

Took the 944S apart last winter, time to assemble it. Rob bearing scratched the heck out of the motor. Bought a replacement short block. Drilling (not knife edging) the crank.
Baffling the oil pan
Accusump system
I might even do oil squirter's.
944 Turbo forged rods. Other than that, keeping it stock for now. Supercharger in the future.

928 just popped a head gasket. So that will be coming apart as well this winter. Fun fun. Glad the Audi is running strong, knock on wood.

I am considering painting my brake calipers over the winter - either red or just freshen up the black paint. I also want to paint the rear brake hats, since the front ones are from Kokeln and are anodized, I think I should probably touch up the rusty ones in the rear. From there I will do anything I can earn enough money for, such as a test pipe (to replace my bored cat), bigger injectors, MAF/MAP, new tires, etc.
