Default 944 headlight cable kit

anyone got any experience with these headlight cable kits with relays? do they help or does porsche already have good thick wires as some say ?
can someone measure light differences or cable loss differences ?

I made my own relay harness & put in some Crytal halogen 60/100w or 60/80w bulbs. HUGE improvement. Factory design is a fire hazard & lacking in amperage capability. Go for the harness kit unless you go LED or HID, in which case you don't need it.

There's no questions that a harness with relays has much better light output.

Stock wiring is uber-weak, definitely need a harness, I just dug mine out of the attic to re-install with winter coming around.
Even high-watt bulbs in E-code housings are weak on stock wiring.

I've got the Rennbay harness with E-codes and 100W/130W bulbs and I'd never go back to stock sealed-beams on the OEM harness. It's a huge difference in nightime visibility which is directly tied to your safety. Not a hard decision.

ofc higher wattage bulbs will give you better visibility and more heat too which might burn reflectors in long term. but my question was about cable not the bulbs diffrences. will be using 55/60w bulbs, later might be upgrading but does this cable bring any advantages using these stock power bulbs ?

EDIT - SOLD

I have a cable kit for sale. The Rennbay kit is about $200 shipped with the lights.
I would take $150 shipped with the lights.

Just to be 100% clear, mine is not a Rennbay kit. It was made by RL member "Got Me a Porsha". It is very high quality. I can take more pics if requested.

If you convert to lenses with good focus and bi-xenons, they can produce more light with less wattage also. 35 watt ballasts are plenty bright.

Get a harness and run hella or Valeo/cibie e-codes with 90/130w bulbs and never go back. The wattage won't hurt the reflectors on these headlights as they are silvered glass.

HID's have been done, but they are a lot more work. The 90/130w H4 and harness setup is very close in output to a modern HID setup, my S2 puts down about as much usable light as my dads 997.1 with HID's. I just use a lot more current to do it than the 997 does so its less efficient.

I was thinking of making one of these, not for the 944, but for my D21. The high beams are super dim.... what gauge wired does the one that you sold use? How about the Rennlist one? I'm guessing 10 or 12, anything thinner would be a waste of time.
The Hella E codes, are plenty bright with 55/60 bulbs and stock wiring.

If you are spending a couple hundred for a cable kit, you might want to consider these instead. Note that there is a $100 coupon so it is about $300 for a pair.

This is a pretty great deal. Looks like it's time for this upgrade...

EDIT:

I ended up buying the Nighthawk LED headlights and installed them this weekend. I need to get them aimed properly, but first "out-of-the-box" impressions are these headlights put out more light than the HID's in my Cayman.

There seem to be some "artifacts" in the light a bit down the road, and while the horizontal cut-off is quite sharp these lights don't put out the additional light to the right side like H4's do. Overall however, I am very, very impressed. My dash lights are even a bit brighter now, I guess due to the lower power draw.

Pics on the way...
