... touch wood...
In the 2 1/2 years I've followed this forum I have sometimes despaired that I would ever be able to enjoy my 924S. All the stories of problems, lack of reliablity... all those 27 year old parts that in my imagination are just on the brink of breaking....
... after all most of us open a thread here when somethings goes wrong.
So I decided to do a positive thread...
After 3 years of ownership, 2 years of (very off and on) working on it, my 924S has become a reliable DD this year. First year it waited while I worked on the house, second year I did the time belt etc and motor mounts, while working on the house and last year the clutch, which I finished just in time to put it away for the winter.
So this spring it came out of the garage and after changing the leaky injector O rings I have been driving it regularly, only one all day drive but lots of around town trips. It starts, drives, shifts nicely with the new clutch. Everything works, except the odometer and the A/C. Actually the odometer works sometimes. And I'm having fun driving it! The odd thumbs up and the occasional compliment makes it even better.

Nice car.
I DD my black 924S. Gave me a bugger of a time with a few things but nothing that kept it off the road (except at night when my headlight switch was melted).

congratulations, you and i share a drive line. I have 360,000 miles on my beast and it has been my daily or may brother's for the precious 6 years. I hope this gives you some confidence

it's great having an older car as a DD. you don't feel like you're driving one of the completely nondescript appliances that everyone else is. sure, sometimes its a headache, but most of the time it's an entertaining analog experience. enjoy.
