My daughter inspired this tonight as she was helping me move cars around. She wanted her picture taken with my grey early 85. When I looked at the picture, it reminded me that she asked the same question three years ago as she had to have her picture taken then as well. So, being a proud dad, I had to share this then and now picture. If you guys have anything similar you want to share, post them up!

(Day I bought it, and the day the trans/TT went out last month, since been repaired)

No kids here, that's awesome that you have one who is involved in your hobby

HAHA, that made me laugh. I have two kids that are serious car nuts. My two oldest. One boy and one girl. The younger two are still not ready to help in the garage but I'm confident that once they are old enough, they will be just like the other two!

Man, wish I had before and after pics of my car. It started life as an 87 16v car with a clean interior. Now 3 years later its a semi stripped out turbo with modded everything...a different car. I have no pictures of the build but I have so many memories, and so much more pride in my old car with the terrible paint than any other 20 something in a new car mommy and daddy paid for.

First time I went and saw my car, sitting in-front of the seller's house. Snapped this picture with my big honkin' digital camera of the day (August 2003)

And here she sits 10 years and 33,000 miles later (August 2013)

How time flies!

Great pics of your daughter.

Great idea for a thread.

When I bought my car I was single and the car was my life. Now 11 years later, 2 kids, a mortgage, wife, and a lot of other things in the background it is still great to own. My son in my avator is now five and loves the car more than I do. Funny how cars can stand the test of time and become a part of your family.

And 3 years from now, you'll have to once again raise your camera even higher to keep her centered..
From bumper to spoiler to hatch to roof, etc...
Nice touchstone... And I love that gray silver blue paint!
Which paint code?

Love the boots... My little girls started helping me in the garage about 30 years ago, they would bring me mud pies from the patio. The wife pointed out to me one night how fast they are learning my vocabulary. Heres my current helper (we were looking into wheel upgrade for his mower)...Bruce

Here is my S2 the week after I picked it up in October 2011, and then about a month ago.

Not nearly as cute as the little girl pix. I hope she'll have her picture taken behind the wheel one day!

Nice pics of your girl! Good idea, I need to do the same with my 2.5 yr old son and 1.5 yr old daughter. They both love playing in the cars, so always snapping pics of them.
