Or are you just being cryptic about the topic and disagree with the handling of the car and the power delivery?

Not to mention that if you make the same power out of the stock turbo motor that the LSx does, the stock turbo motor won't last very long, particularly on the track.

When my stock motor blew and I talked to Chris White, he advised me that I'd have to do a 3 liter stock motor with minimal boost to keep it together on the track. Cost wise with the LS1 it was no comparison, LSx was way cheaper, so I did it.

Very linear power band, more revs = more power.

Autocorrect is a bitch.

Completely agree with you on power delivery of LS1 and the balance of the 944 chassis.

951 boost is directly proportional to con-rod bearing and head gasket longevity.

Heh, I understand the concept of linearity.

I was just scratching my head as to why the post read "linier" everytime it was supposed to read "linear". Wouldn't have said anything if this was LS1tech or Bimmerforums (). Autocorrect is a valid excuse for that though

In my case its more of fat fingers on the ipad keyboard. Some of the autocorrect stuff it comes up with is WAY off base. Seems it learns too. You mistype something once and it always makes it that way. Especially frustrating with the space bar. (or lack of hitting it)

Lots of other clubs to race with, so that doesn't hold water.

I have driven a lot of very nice cars, and the good ol' pushrod V8's are still my favorite. Now imagine one in a Miata!

A car that small with that much HP and weight over the front axle .... Not a fun car to drive IMO. A v8 replacing a small I4 engine. There was a guy installing an LSx into a miata at a local shop a few years ago, never saw the finished product though.

not sure what people mean about turbos being hard to drive on the track, my ole' turbo was pushing 360rwhp for three years of track duty running respectable times around the track and only time lag was an issue was a nelson ledges at the tight keyhole. The problem is sizing the turbo correctly for what you want to do. It was ok around town. Now the ls swap i helped on was very nice, and instant hp right off the bat is a whole other ballgame. Im still not 100 percent sold on the swap just because of the brakes, but im sure the hydroboost is the way to go.

The swap still maintains very close to 50/50 and weighs in the 2500 area. I've seen this car a couple of times at Little Tally and it's ridiculously fast. A proper suspension and location of the engine can make a huge difference with these swaps.
Thanks for the link, I stand corrected. Thats insane.

you're only adding a maximum of about 35~40 pounds.

and after adding this much power and swapping transmissions, you'll thank God you've added some ballast up there (to keep the 944's front end from floating off the tarmac while you're dusting off another ******* showing off in his Saleen Mustang).
