Glad you got this sorted you should be able to get stock to about -3.25" with the bottom spring mount cut. Just be careful of your a-arms, you want those parallel to the ground to avoid the ball joint breaking and bump steer causing an issue. You can keep the a-arms level at lower body settings with the geometry corrected ball joints.

Don't give up!! Lots of PB blaster, then lower the car onto a breaker bar using its weight to break it free

i do agree that there is such a thing as too low. i may be flirting with that line myself.

As for ball joint life.. They seem to last even under racing conditions, but again at $11 each might as well replace them. I did replace one ball joint this January. It was it little loose and probably had 6-7 years of racing on it. The other side was fine.

^^^ At first I read that as "you suck at it"
And +1, thirdgenbird, control arms and ball joints are cheap and easy to replace...

I know they are cheap and easy to replace. (I wash more parts were) I just wanted to confirm they were not an issue on early cars. I figured he forgot you had steel arms. It is the best of both worlds, cheap and reliable.
