Umm... Only have like an hour available per day. And I was ordering parts and waiting on shipment. And EVERYTHING went wrong, as usual for me. I expect the other side to go MUCH faster. Already have it's new control arm fully assembled. And I know what I'm doing now

Keith, this is the reason I was asking you what spring length you went with. 12in springs are not going to work with your setup. Lemme know if you want me to come over and give you a hand.

Those should be ok.

Here is mine. 8" I believe and 350lbs rate. Too low for a street car however.

At 200lbs per in inch they need to be longer than my 8" 350lbs units. You will compress about twice as far as mine because the spring rate is about half. Plus you probably have more weight up front since it is a stock car.





Lets do some figuring.

My 944 spec is very low. Too low for a street car. I would say 2" to low for a street car. So 350's and 10" should work for street car instead of a race car. Most 944's specs are 600lbs per corner give or take. Figure a stock street car is 700lbs per corner (2800 overall). Effective rate is close to one to one. So at 700lbs that spring will compress 3.5 Inches with load on the car. My 350 spring will compress will compress 1.7 inches with weight of the car on it. So the street car will compress about 2" with 200lbs So to get to the same ride height as my 944 spec you need run 10" springs instead of the 8" ones I run . 12" 200lbs springs will cause the car to sill 2" taller than mine and that is probably right for street car. You should have +/- 1" to play with in adjustment.

BTW... what is the green stuff for? That is also raising ride height.

Lol the homemade gasket isn't going to affect it more than a couple mm's.

I think I'm just going to trust jaon here and put together the rest of the setup. If he says 12" at highest setting should be around stock, I believe him. For now I'll assume it hasn't set in yet. I wanted room to go a good 1-2" lower than stock, maybe more if I felt like it.

So what is it for? I don't remember there being anything but metal to metal on the stock strut tops. The rubber is the isolator.

I have 10" 200lb and at the lowest setting am about 2" lower than stock. But I also have a spacer and helper spring in there and have my bottom mount cut. Without the spacer/helper I could probably go 3" lower.

BTW I run them 1" lower approximately depending on where the corner balance sets them. Dont like to go lower as my a-arm angle goes above parallel and bump steer sets in from the tie-rod angle. You don't want to go too low with soft springs for those reasons.

This is with 225/50R 15 tires... Very low...



I think at 10" with 200lbs springs you can get the car sit like this. However in a turn it will lean even more and you probably will bottom the strut. I have to cut my bump stops in half and still have only about 1" before it start hitting them.


Oh forgot.. You would also need to reindex the t-bars to ride this low and that is a really big job. Makes front end look easy. (which to me the front end is easy).

I used some window weld on the top mount just to seal out moisture. Most of it squeezed out when I tightened the strut to the body, there's probably a thin layer in there still.

Moisture.. Butters you are in Az we don't have moisture...

Lol here in tropical FL moisture is a way of life. The bottom of the threads on the top mount corrode from water getting in there. It's just a precautionary measure.
