Those should not be very tight. Probalby rusted/corrosion is the problem. Soak it in PB blaster or similar.

Damn. Still won't budge for crap after soaking in liquid wrench. Excuse my lack of knowledge, but what's PB blaster?

Here's a pic of the nut I'm taking about (center)

i dont know much about the 944 suspension just yet but it looks like it could possibly an eccentric (camber) bolt, but soak it in some penetrant and/or heat it up, along with some elbow grease it will come loose. Doesnt even look corroded or rusted, atleast not compared to northern Illinois roads...

My car is VERY CLEAN on the underside, besides all the dirt. No rust whatsoever. One reason I got my car.

I've studied my haynes manual. No, it's not an eccentric bolt. Sucks that something this simple can hold up my project for days

I'd just put a socket and breaker bar on the nut and then put the handle of the breaker bar on the pad of a floor jack and let it have it. As a matter of fact that's how most of the bolts on the bottlom of all the cars I've owned have come off.

whatever works, its a nut and bolt is what it comes down to. It WILL come loose. Why are you taking your control arms off any way? Bushings? Coilovers that I've done never needed the control arm dropped.

Bushings and ball joint while I'm in there. They are worn to **** I can tell just by looking at them. Still debating new control arms for the hell of it cause they're inexpensive. And jackson, I'll try the jack method tomorrow probably, if I have the time...

Besides the new look, new control arms wont do anything. Unless their cracked or bent as is. Bushings and ball joint wont hurt, atleast you'll know where you stand.

Lol I have a 19mm impact. And my control arm, it has some bends on it from jacking points.

I think he means 3/4" drive impact...

That would take the nut off for sure.

Then replace, and if you have access to air tools do as others have mentioned.
