Not sure if this has been posted here; it sums up the ricer scene pretty nicely!

my best guess is probably around 400 crank...i think with the old exhaust it was probably 350-375, but it was angular and undersized...the new exhaust opened up a LOT of top end power...like getting serious wheelspin shifting semi hard from second to third...i'm really excited about getting a turbo trans in it, that'll let me really haul *** off the line!

Sounds like a pretty exciting car to own. I wouldn't recommend launching to hard, you will find very quickly that the differential does not like that. My 951 and your V8 944 should be a pretty even match

I can't believe some ricer mounded his intercooler like that.... What a fail....

So I'm assuming this is the place I should put this story....

Earlier this summer I pulled up to a stop light minding my own business, noticed a cute chic next to me so i gave her the momentary "eyes meet glance then look away tough guy business". Well I rolled on green in 2nd gear nice and easy, and she decided we were racing and punched it. It took me until about 6500K till I pulled by her....

The reason I'm embarrased by this...

She was driving a Toyota Yaris

I know the feeling. Soccer moms commuting to work in minivans require a lot of effort to keep up with when you own an NA

our cars tend to sound a bit "ricey." our cars run VERY RICEY. even mine with the....

therefore, if we don't drop a V8 in there, are we technically not ricers w/ german accents ?

Our cars are the very antithesis of Rice.

i only ever do soft launches...and because of my stock 215 rear tires, i break tires loose more than anything else. by soft launch i mean i'm real easy on the clutch...but once it's fully engaged i put the pedal to the floor, no slamming through gears, just solid shifts...doing this i've only managed to kill one cv joint

I'd recommend 275s with that torque. I wish you were closer so we could run em

There is a guy in my area who drives a second gen CRX with a half finished wide body kit. It is a nice shade of primer with wide tires in the back and narrow factory steel wheels in front. Other than a fart can muffler, I don't think he's got any engine mods. I see him all the time when I am driving the minivan(I've got three young boys in car seats).

The one time I saw him while driving the 951 was getting off the freeway late one evening. There are two lanes that turn to the right onto the cross street and I was in the left lane of the two. He was stopped for the red light in the right lane as I was pulling up to the intersection. The light turned green just before I got to the intersection so I rolled past and onto the cross street. As soon as I went past him, I heard his fart can make a sound that I can only assume was full throttle. He was slightly behind me at the time so I can't be sure. That was a close as I got to hearing his exhaust until the next light.
When he finally got to the next light, he gave me a big thumbs up and a $h!t eatin' grin. He may be a ricer but he didn't seem to mind getting soundly beaten by a Porsche.

If you are Id be willing to do a few sprints. You have a lower horsepower rating but with 3.89 gears and the V8 you may be able to make up for it
