i used patriot headers because they were nice and cheap, and had been used on an LT conversion before...they do require a little bit of smacking to the frame rail if you want them to both fit with the flanges

LT1s have no problem with clearing the steering shaft and/or the engine mounts?

Ok, I went to look at his car today, and wow it is soo much better in person. Pictures do not do the hood scoop any justice at all. The car is blazingly fast and even with solid engine mounts very smooth. This is giving me ideas for my N/A 944.

My only concern is the N/A trans, it is really holding this car back. A turbo trans or something of the like is needed but those cost $$ so...

Otherwise the car is awesome, it pulls very hard in every gear and has a nice rumble.

even with a turbo trans 5th gear rpm stays about the same

the NA has a final drive of 3.889:1 and the 5th gear is .729:1

the turbo has a final drive of 3.375:1 and a 5th gear of .831:1

after multiplication to get the wheel ratio the NA is about 2.84:1, whereas the turbo is about 2.80:1

however the v8 guys do sometimes put the NA 5th into the turbo box so that makes it (3.375)(.729) = 2.46:1

Nice work on the mods but yea that hood still needs some attention. Wait I see you are in Maryland and a few of you are we need to get up for a drive. I know a few of us in Va would be down for it

Yeah 951 trans doesn't really cut down on the highway rpms. 3K rpm in 5th = 60mph
