Today I cleaned the contacts on my series resistor

While I was in there I replaced the vacuum lines on top of the blower and vacuumed the whole area

I was pleased to discover that the wires on the ballast resistor weren't frayed

I also removed the front seats to vacuum my car and discovered that my carpet is FUBAR'd

Can anyone tell me what this thing is?

Wow. So nice to see some of the stuff you guys do, and add a couple things to my list (cleaning my series resistor, and redoing the vacuum hose up there for two...).

Found my aos hose was pretty much junk, and it was plugged into a broken jboot, so I was looking for a replacement. I saw a post by s14kev (i think) that talked about how he modified his metal portion of the aos tube to use, and i liked this idea. I asked my landlord how easy that might be, being he has all sorts of fun tools in his shop (the miracle landlord, let me tell you), and less than 30 minutes later he made me this. Milled and cleaned on a grind stone.

This is the best picture I have of the vacuum lines that I've ran. I haven't done any of the lines from the check valve (fuel enrichment valve i've seen it called), and obviously it's not back together yet. Trying to tuck things and clean up a bit while I'm in there, but this won't be the last time I'm in this area (turbo rebuild, aos replacement, icv replacement).

Got the leaking PS rack pulled from the car and have a rebuild kit in hand. Also found I needed a tie rod, so I ordered that last night.

The girlfriend wanted some more personal touches to the car, aside from the LR blue silicone vacuum lines and AOS/Venturi hoses, so she went on a painting spree. I actually like the runs and uneven paint, it's a very poor mans ghost flame look More pictures when I put the thread together.

Thanks. I have been around for a bit, but under the name blx286. I just decided to retire that old computer forum name.

Nope, I'm on the other side of the state, Southeast of Dallas.

Just finished installing a Ground Control coilover suspension with rear torsion bar delete. 650# springs in rear. 440# springs up front. Camber/caster plates and stress bar. Huge difference.
