Replaced my Ref sensors (Yay! My car starts like normal again!), DME temp sensor and flasher relay.

Anyone want to see the dirtiest Ref sensor ever pulled out of a 944?

It was like a combination of road grime with an incredibly small amount of coolant residue, from my HCV having a small little leak almost directly above the Ref sensors.

Did the winter storage monthly startup...if accelerated it would sputter...i need to check for vacum leaks and AFR tuning in the spring.

On a side note...how many of you keep parts of your car in your home?
I have my OZ Futuras, the spare engine head, cam shaft and i'm going to clean and bring up the engine block and turbo too.

Ha, yeah I have an old block that I used as an end table alongside my couch. Of course it has a cloth covering so it looks nice.

Last few days I have fixed drivers side power window(was slipping) and needed the lift mech replaced. I finished wiring up amp to run newly installed mid-bass drivers and tuning the system but today was spent fixing the AC switch, and the light behind the clock. My clock has always worked but have never been able to read it due to back light being blown. I had no idea the back light(OEM) would be amber. It looks cool.

Fixing the AC switch was a major PITA. A cpl of weeks ago the front cover feel off when accelerating(yes it has that much power lol). Wasn't a big deal as I could still push it on and off although the light bulb was distracting at night. Then the switch stopped working and had to be held on for AC to work(it's summer here BTW). I organised a new switch but the old switch has to be de-soldered after pulling the HVAC control apart. Took me about an hour+ to get the old switch out and about 2 minutes to fit new one. Put it back in and tested it before refitting it and works a charm.

Now I'm off to give her a vac and wash, as I start new job tomorrow, this is the last chance to get all this stuff done.

Bought the rest of the stuff I need for my clutch replacement. Fidanza Flywheel, all the hardware and the rear main seal. Along with the 12 point 12mm and 8mm socket. Found a site where I got them for $6 each plus shipping.

thanks guys

Today I tucked away some wiring for my high stop light, adjusted one of my hatch pins, took out my front seats and cleaned out everything. the pax seat has been out before but not my drivers seat. 26 yrs of rubbish under that one!

tomorrow I'll put in seats from an '86 turbo and may put in a centre console from my parts car.

Today, took out my centre console. its got a butt ugly cutout for an aftermarket A/C system switch which has bugged me for ages.

here's the old 944 one (left) and 968 one side by side.

Swapped some bits around and made a complete one. had to use a 968 switch which adjusts the fog light level until I can get a switch blank that fits.

next was the HVAC controls. the plastic around the screw holes is brittle and falling to pieces. I'm also looking at swapping in the 968's factory A/C system anyway so in went the 968's one.

old; both; new

Also note if you compare the first pic to the one above, I swapped my hazard light switch to a red 968 one. The old one is hard to see when you want it in a hurry.

Next was seats. I had a pair of good 944 turbo seats from the 968. Was ready to fit them when i realised the seat belt receivers weren't mounted properly. They'll need machining to fix so i decided to refit my original seats. Damn things have 6 x 6mm hex bolts each so I got rained out halfway through and will have to do the pax seat tomorrow. (I recall my 932 having 4 x 10 mm bolts each)

Should I fit these 968 door cards? One side needs fixing up and the 10 speaker system was kept by the PO but I've been slowly collecting the pieces to redo it.

Changed the oil Friday night at 10. Saturday took her for 450 mile drive through the mountains. Got it dirtier than it has ever been in the ten years I have owned it! Enjoyed most every minute of it! Came home gave her a bath and put it in the garage.

Wasted my entire afternoon swearing and breaking things trying to figure out why there's no power going to my heater blower. Gave up on it.
