No offense taken

Took 1.5 hours to do the right side, this included pondering for probably an hour on how I'd get it done. Then the left side took maybe 15 minutes after I knew what I was doing.

I'm smarter then the average 16 yr old, at least I think...

Not trying to pull a 77'3.6vram and bring my VERY SUPERIOR IQ into this or anything...

Well, I bought a 968 today. Pretty sure it's a known car here.

Haven't owned a water cooled, 4 cylinder Porsche since I sold my 924S nearly 20 years ago. (Was going to be used when Club Racing first started.)

Made plenty of money on 944s--N/A and Turbo--during the '80s when I had my shop. Hopefully this car will be pretty much gas 'n go.

First alteration will be the stock sport seats from the '95 993 faux RS. But they need to change from dark blue to black. Second might be installing one of the sets of Big Reds laying around. And it seems nearly every set of wheels I have laying around, 17, 18 or 19" will probably fit.

Had family here with all their "baggage" for the month. All my plans to work on my baby went out the window. They're gone now so I plan to start on pulling the tranny, clutch and RMS out to stop the final oil leak. Next will be the rear hatch for glass/frame reseal.

I never really fully believed the whole wiggle a few wires and stuff will work on these cars until..... after finishing getting my head back on and front seals the car would not start, the starter would not go so i wiggled the one bunch of wires that goes behind the cam well it worked. When turning right the lever would automatically go back and would not hold in place for the turn well some how that fixed it's self. Also the car locks its self a few minutes after you shut the door >.< maybe if i wiggle a few more wires my oil pan gasket will stop leaking

I had one bumper shock pushed in so I removed the bumper (2 bolts, but watch for old wiring and especially brittle hoses from the headlight washer) unbolted the shock (2 bolts) then I hooked it in my metal shelves and, well, I, um, beat on it with a hammer and a bar through the mount bracket and it slowly extended to its proper length. It is now back on the car and the bumper is completely symmetrical and looks good again. Whatever impact that had pushed it in had not damaged the body at all so I think they are a good thing, especially if you plan to actually park it on the street occasionally. Now if my new fog has been delivered...

Did the E-code addition and the stupid wiring harness that is supposed to be "plug and play" (hah! Took about 3 hours over 2 nights and I still haven't switched 'em on yet) but I also didn't like that Porsche loaded all those wires on the battery terminal so I added a marine bus bar and built a new cable so each wire has its own terminal and there is only the starter cable and m'new cable on the terminal. Much neater and a good place to connect the E-code wire to.

If you run 130 watt high beams, which come with the kit, you need at least 8 gauge wire and preferably larger if you want to keep the voltage drop to 1% or less. Also, remember you are fusing the wire, not the device, so choose your fuse wisely. Except that the car is 3000 miles away, I need to look at mine to see if the relays and fuses supplied with the kit are good enough.

Blue Seas' website is a great source for all things electrical, cable size and fuses and all other goodies.
