For those who are saying, "so and so doesn't have a hood scoop," I think 944-LT1 used a custom crossmember if memory serves, but I'm not positive.

924 Carrera GT IMHO is the only way to go to keep it looking somewhat factory. It looks tall enough and long enough to me.
Ideally you would try to offset it, but that may not work.

you could also ust the mitsu eclipse turbo hood "blister" grafted on i have seen it on 2 cars for early
LSx transplants without lowering the crossmember and they dont look bad if the body work has been done right the blister will hain you about 2 3/4 height about 5 1/2 wide and 14 inches long has a nice gental shape to it as i recall there is someone that makes a fiberglass version of it for non turbo mitsu hoods

Have you tried to install the hood? I would look like the hood wont close but then it does. If it truly doesnt close something isnt right. Are your mounts custom made or bought? Is the pan made or bought? Sorry if you already posted all this.
Either (the mounts or the pan) would be cheaper to do than a scoop.

LT1, didn't you have a custom cross member made (or am I imagining stuff)?

also...i'm going to try some things this weekend, i'm seriously leaning towards modifying the hood to clear it (if i do it i'll show you guys pictures) or custom making a shaker hood, which no one has ever done on one of these...but that would be difficult...
if i get down there and it looks like it'll be too hard to do anything custom, i might try picking up a carrera scoop and see what it looks like

IIRC you are documenting this for a school project...I think?
Can you please post up some pics of how you modified the oil pan, and some pre/during/post pics of it?
Thanks for any insight...
