Default hood scoop (read inside before flaming!!)

sorry guys, i know you all are going to get on my case for putting a hood scoop on my car, but here's my dilemma...

The LT-1 i put in my engine bay doesn't quite fit, so i'm planning for the worst...that is having to cut a chunk out of the hood and put a scoop there. And no i can't shim it down or lower it any more, the motor mounts are built and the engine is as low as it can go...i still need 2 1/2 inches.

So, here's my plea...
could you guys help me find a tasteful, subtle hood scoop that's relatively cheap? I know that's asking a lot, but i don't have a whole buttload of money to spend on fancy expensive crap

Thanks a lot guys!
Ethan

Talking Hood Scoop

NOT FLAMING - but for me, a rebuilt 2.5 would be cheaper than a hood scoop!

O.k, let's be for real. What sizing H & V are you looking for?

haha! ummm...well i'm not sure what you mean by H & V but it needs to be at least 2.5 inches tall towards the front (i was thinking a cobra jet style hood scoop, maybe a Boss? check out item number 120403150787 and tell me what you think). I don't want it to look way out of place, but i also don't want to have to mess with stuff too much to get it to work right.

Question Hood Scoop

Horizontal & Vertical. The hole in the hood, how large of an area (Forgive me if I am assuming).

oh duh...umm i'm not quite sure off the top of my head, i can't go out and measure it, but i don't think it needs to be real big...maybe 12" X 24" tops? i don't have a problem going longer or wider, but i think it might be to dramatic for the subtle lines of the car if it was any smaller than that

i'd love to do a carrera gt scoop, but it's not big enough!

this is a stock intake that's just been ported and powdercoated, so i don't think i could get 2.5 inches out of a different intake...plus my stock intake was ruined...so i'm gonna stick with it

hehe....I lived in Smithfield (VA. not NC) for a few years about 4 miles from the Gwaltney, Smithfield Foods, Pruden, etc....packing plants. I feel your pain.

30,000 hogs a day.

Nice RX-stable you have there BTW...very nice.

Sorry for the hi-jack...back to the scoop.

Talking Pic Time

Looking at my pics for 944's with scoops. Hard for me to imagine visually the one you posted, will pop up what I find in a bit.
