Saratogo made them in both glass and plexi. The glass is frameless and the plexi has a frame.

I have one of each. Both for manual applications though.

Bart- I'm not so sure that's accurate. The one pictured above is mine, and is glass. It weighs in at around 25lbs or so, and plexiglass/ aluminum frame wouldn't weigh that much.

Mine is framed, and glass.

Dudes, I'm drooling all over the desk... I've been wanting a Saratoga top forever but I've only ever seen them "with slight scratches" or "very little wear" or "nearly something kinda' like a close resemblence to a new top only with _(broken latches___missing..x..x..x..___no gasket___manual roof___won't fit a 968___etc.)_". Or there's the guy who thinks HIS top is the only one ever made and he wants a zillion bucks for it.

Why hasn't somebody with the ability to manufacture these tops, done so??? Would it be cost prohibitive? Even for plexiglass? I mean geez, someone is out there making plexi windshields and hatch glass for our cars. What gives???

It's kinda' like hunting Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster. Anybody have any experience with these mysterious tops?

Thanks for your insight!!!

you could make one but youd need a big oven to do it with lol

and youd need to figure out a way to mount the sunroof hardware onto it without it looking like ****t.

Always wondered if mine is a Saratoga. It's thick Plexi and frameless.

With my first gen saratoga, the leaks were never water related. There are gutters and drains in place to take care of that stuff. The leaks I experienced were of a howling noise type. I saw serious air gaps large enough to catch a ray of light along the sides while closed, at 140mph. There is some serious lift pulling up on that baby at speeds. I usually drive with it open at least a 1/2 inch, just to stop any whistling.

There have been a few threads in the past that indicated there were non Saratoga sunroofs produced. The photo evidence posted certainly looked different, but I did not see them in person.

A great addition to any Porsche.

I am thinking of letting mine go. Anyone need a manual Saratoga?
