Default Cluster Problem

Hi, I have a problem on the cluster of my 1986 944 N/A. The "!" signal and the oil gage (on the far right) are flashing/blinking... I don't think it has something to see with the engine cause everything runs smothly... I tried to clean the two ground contact under the steering wheel but it didnt work... could someone help me with this please..

thanks !!

When do they blink? All the time? After a long drive on a hot day? Are these the only two lights that are on? Did you check the connections to the cluster itself (ribbon cables)? What oil are you using? What does the needle on the gauge read?

Change it now. And check the belts.
You may have a serious oil pressure problem.

BTW. Where are you located?

if the filter has a spring when you look down inside of it, you're good. there are very few oil filter manufacturers afaik, they just make a bunch and slap different labels on em.

15W50 is great oil. Just put a bunch of it in my turbo today.

Definitely do the oil change. Don't bet that it's the cluster until you know for sure that everything is cool with the oil When you say the gauge is freaky, what do you mean?

I would stick with the mahle unless you can find the K&N locally.

You need to pour in about 5.6 Qts of oil which is about 5.4 Liters.

Default May car did the same thing.

My car did the same thing. The idiot light would blink. I found out the (2) wires coming from the sender were touching and this caused the problem. I took a screw driver and spread the connections apart. That fixed the probles.
