It's that time of year again for a season closer. This is a nice run, good for all Porsches + whatever. It's a long day of driving, especially for some of the Bay and North Bay people. People from Sacramento will be doing about 280 miles RT plus your point of origin. Hopefully we won't get snow 2 days before the drive like 2 years ago. I'm lazy so I'm posting links but the meeting place is the same as before. Some people might be coming from Santa Rosa, Modesto, Stockton, and hopefully we can get some of the Bay Area people off of Hwy. 9 for a day. Not the best map but I'll have maps for everyone attending that you can actually read! As usual it's a bring your own lunch/drinks thing and we have a good place lined up to pull the cars over and use some tables. Weather should be in the high 50's to 60's, we will get to near 8,800' elevation at Monitor and Ebbetts Pass so be sure to bring a jacket and aspirin if you get headaches at higher altitudes. Most of the driving will be below 6000'. It would be good to see some Sharks this time and there seems to be some interest. Here's some links with pics from the last one.

Keep checking the last post for any changes...this weather sucks!

Wow, I really enjoyed this ride the last time, especially Monitor Pass. I'm a *maybe* still. Will confirm by end of weekend.

I'm in. I'll get the word to the other sharks. Brian and Gerry in Stockton expressed interest, so did Bill in the east bay. Also have a friend with a new Mustang GT convertible that wants to go.

Good work Richard. Taco Tuesday will cover a few of us that are going for sure. Juan is waiting for new axles so he's iffy. I'll see if I can get the 911 guys out again, they had a blast on the climbs. They visited his hanger first and tanked up with some mega+ octane LL AV gas and were loving it.

Steve,

Can't make this run, we're heading to Disneyland for the week with the kids. I'll see you guys at at Taco Tuesday when I move back to Elk Grove (for work) later in the year.

Dude, quit whining roger. Your kids are still small, so just stick them in the back seat and come.

I plan on being there. Don't think I'll have the maxtronic in because I'm realizing the piping I currently have won't allow the MAF to fit in as a stealth install. Still need to do something about that rear brake line and the clutch as well, but those shouldn't take too long. Also hoping to (finally) get my sport seats done for this.

And shouldn't you be fixing the 951?

Yeah the 951 has been my priority lately. I found a shop that would measure my AFR today but they wanted $100 so I might as well just hold off until I get a wastegate and wideband gauge. The audi is a gold/tan original owner 2001 with 93,000 miles that was serviced by a audi stealership.

I'm probably in for this drive. Steve, PM me your email and phone # in case of another rennlist outage.

I hope the timing belts on the Audi have already been changed recently. A belt change on these cars requires removing the front bumper.

And when the turbos go, you get to buy two.

Not exactly a cheap maintenance car.
