Bill,
Assume it's a go, we'll figure it out and Saturday is best for everyone so far. Check the thread tonight just in case we are cursed with a swarm of locusts.

Let's put it this way Dan, Serge, Juan, Bill, Gary, Rich, and I are going to be there at the scheduled time, we are going to take a drive into the Sierra's, that much I know. The worst that can happen is a road is closed but we will deal with it. This is our last local run of the year and I'll be there ready to roll...will you?

On good advice I'm letting you know it might be cold and windy at the lunch stop. Bring a warm jacket for sure and flip-flops are out for this one. The good news is that all cars love to run in colder air, the turbos love it even more

I just got home from the drive, had a great time and met some wonderfull Rennlisters. We had a bit of everything, from crisp temperatures, snow on the road, bright fall colors, and plenty of sunshine.

Here are some pics I took along the way.

Approaching Carson Pass

Kirkwood Ski Area

Nearing Carson Pass...you can almost see the snowplow up ahead....

Back side of Carson Pass, nice and dry, sunny and colorful

Markleeville lunch stop

Monitor pass

Thanks go to Steve for organizing this and leading us up there!!! Had a great time!

Default Fall (Winter?) Run Pics.

I would like to thank everyone for turning out today and was pleased everyone made it considering the weather the last 2 days. We had 11 cars with Tom and Serge just saying Hi at the meeting place. Great people and a really good mix of cars. A big thanks to Rich for drawing the Sharks out today; if you have never heard his 928 it is amazing. I know the weather and roads were a bit dicey and hope no ones' paint or windshields are too bad. The one thing I learned today is we had some pretty good crisis mechanics on the run. Shawn overcame a slipped main cooling hose combined with an intake hose at the same time. He was back on the road within a 1/2 hour. Billthe3 had his shift linkage separate at the TA; again back on the road in record time. It was excellent to have Sharks along today and I met new people from all over NorCal. I'm waiting to hear how Ebbetts Pass worked out for several people that returned that way. You guys are troopers! Anyway a few pics.
