I hope the timing belts on the Audi have already been changed recently. A belt change on these cars requires removing the front bumper.

And when the turbos go, you get to buy two.

Not exactly a cheap maintenance car.
What??? You bought an S4? Why not just burn your money with a 951?

Hell no! I was considering them in the past and began doing some research. These cars with high mileage are money pits. Kind of like your 951.

A6 2.7s use the same 2.7t as the old S4. Nice powerful engine but yes, I know they're high maintenance. Its really cool how the bumper just kinda swings out on a hinge for a belt job. Right now may not be the time but withing the next 5-6 months I'd really like a A6 2.7t.

Steve, just an FYI....route "B" might work better for the 928 crowd, a couple from Stockton and maybe some from the east bay are considering the run. We also have one up near Placerville that should join us along the way.

Rich, we did route 'B' last time with two people going back on 'A'. A lot depends on the road conditions on Ebbetts Pass. There's some snow expected tomorrow but it shouldn't cause any problems by Saturday. The main issue is they sand the steep sections at the hairpins on Ebbetts and the dust can be pretty bad. Either way the worst that can happen is some people might turn left or right at the Monitor Pass/Hwy. 4 junction. Route 'B' is very scenic also as most of those roads are. It's definitely important to know any car attending should be in good running order as services are scarce. This year I think we should all top off in Pollock Pines just make sure everyone makes it back to Hwy 49. The only gas after Pollock Pines is at Murphy's on 4 or Jackson on 88/49. I hope to see some 928's along, they'll love it.

Route B (Hwy 4) could include a quick stop at the Calaveras Big Trees State Park for some pictures of the Porsches and giant redwoods.

+1, so what weighs more, a 2000 year old redwood or a 928? JK
