NorCal - SF bay area GTG / drive 8/25/07
~~UPDATE~~
The run will start at 2:20pm sharp in San Jose, at the corner of Alum Rock Ave and N White Rd (there's a big parking lot). If for some reason that lot is closed that day, go to the back-up meeting spot: from the first spot, head west on Alum Rock until the first gas station.

/UPDATE
I've done far less driving this summer than I had hoped to. Well, aside from my many trips to my apartment in SoCal. Also, there are many new Rennlisters from the bay area this year, so I think it's time we all got together, met up, and put our cars to good use.
I've only organized a run once before, and it turned out well as far as the route and timing, so I think we'll stick to that for the most part. I'll post up a map later - it's 2am right now and I just wanted to have this posted so y'all can read this monday morning at work or whatever.
The route basically starts in Castro Valley, goes to San Jose, then goes to Livermore where it ends. If time allows, we can take more backroads from Livermore to Tracy, however if it's getting late, we can just take the freeway to Tracy, where Andial951 has kindly offered to host a BBQ. We did this exact same route/bbq last year (around this time) and only NAs showed up so we called it the "east bay NA" run. You can search for those terms and you can find the thread.
I know most of us SF bay area people have spent the summer rebuilding our cars. Hopefully we can all get them done before 8/25/07.
I know someone may be planning a ride for the near future. If your timing conflicts with mine please PM me and maybe we can work out a time shift. I just thought 3 weeks notice should be good.
If you have more than one p-car, bring the one you don't usually bring (that's kinda the theme on this one... not a rule though). I won't tell you to not invite your friend, but I think we'll have a lot of cars and I don't want to be leading a freaking 5-mile train of cars.
I know there are a few new 968 owners, specifically. But some people I'd like to see/meet at this one include Keith, Bill, Lord_Galva, saxman, Jason, and there was a guy in Emeryville who joined recently, who owns a 944 with 968 engine... that would be nice to see. Anyway, let me know if you're in. Ciao.

I doubt I'll be able to finish my car in three days after I get back from vacation, unless I don't have work and all the parts are already here. But I'll still plan on coming in some car.

my abyssmal gas mileage is still killing any hope of any kind of run anywhere anytime.
14mpg city + 20 highway is NOT fun.
Edit- even if i'm getting 5mpg, i'll be making skaggs.

If I move mine up to 8/18 some people definitely won't make it. And we can't have the BBQ in Tracy, so we'd have to end at a restaurant/grill somewhere. But I know the skaggs run is big and most people want to go to that one, so I'm willing to compromise. What dates did you have in mind for that run?
People with cars out of order, please give an ETA on completion. It might help plan out the dates.

Keep your original date. Brad and only mentioned that date a week ago. We could always push Skaggs back until after Labor Day, no problem. The Sierra 4 Pass Fall Run isn't until the end of September.

Ok lets see the 18th I have a kiwanis party and I'm driving to sea ranch and back later on in the day. That would obviously be a good day for the skaggs run for me at least since I haven't driven to sea ranch in six months because of personal situations.
On the 25th I'm going to the indy races at infineon, I'll be in the PCA parking lot for a while. I also have a Napa Valley College board meeting. I might be able to go to the indy races on sunday instead but I do want to see the PCAers.
So I'm up in the air about anything, this sucks

Hey........just saw this thread. Keep the date and we can end at my place for the BBQ. I think the ETC on the 951 will be this weekend (right Arash?). I should have the new fule line for the NA today. I will just be returning from my trip to Germany so I will be ready for a nice P-car ride.

Unfortunately, the missus is going to out of town. But fortunately, it also means that she won't complain about going off for a day playing with cars....
